2. Describe the Innovation

Tell us a few things about your project. Describe your idea in 250 words or less.

Sensors and microcontroller are used to analyze the various

soil parameters like soil temperature, soil moisture, rainfall,
atmospheric temperature, soil moisture. These data are
streamed into the cloud which is then aggregated into database
in cloud. Machine learning and analytics are used to process
the data. The results are used for triggering automatic
irrigation system, and are displayed in online dashboard and
also in mobile app.

a. Projects Vision and Mission:
In our country we see farmers lack technology. We also lack a national framework
for agriculture in our country. To eliminate this problem we need continuous
monitoring of fields thereby we need a wireless sensor network and a database to
store the processed data. On continuous machine learning we will also be able to
intimate farmer if something is gonna happen worse.

1. Describe the problem.

Indian farmers lack technology. No national framework is there to monitor agriculture in our country

2. What is your innovation and what is unique about it? How does it address the problem?

We created a wireless sensor network which will read the data of soil parameters and store it in a
database. Thereby we can maintain a national framework in agriculture.

3. How is the innovation different from what already exists? Are there other products that are
similar to yours? (Please google for similar products; we place a lot of emphasis on the
originality of an idea). If there are other products, please list them and detail the
uniqueness of your product.

The product is available for one parameter and we are doing it for 5-6 parameter.

4. Have you already established your intellectual property with Patents or other ways? Do
you need to get clearance to use someone else patent?

No,we havent established for patents. We dont want to get clearance to use someone else
patent

5. Is the innovation a completely new technology or is it a new combination or packaging of

well-established technologies? Does it address a new or existing market?

We use concepts of IoT , Wireless Sensor Network and Machine Learning which are new and
recent technologies.

6. What are the inputs- technology, time, money? Provide details.

Technology wireless sensor network and machine learning
Time 1 month run for using machine learning. No manpower once setup
Money Initial cost of setting up will be high.
7. Prepare a SWOT analysis on the innovation/project.
S-If well-established throughout the country, food can be localized. National framework can be
established for agriculture.
W-Initial setup cost will be high.
O-This will give wide opportunities in manufacturing of sensors.
T-No threats

8. How will your innovation improve quality of life, enhance efficiency or productivity, or
protect the environment?
Our innovation will intimate the farmer on soil parameters mentioned above by which he can
decide upon whether to water the field or not. In database we also have a list of suitable crop that
can be grown with that soil parameters. This will enhance agriculture and eradicate poverty
among farmers.

9. Future plans for the innovation- After you have developed this innovation, what do you
plan to do with it? (For example: Introduce it to market, ramp up production, license it to
others, seek venture-capital funding, etc)
