Stage Notes
The Gallery Theater will be celebrating our
50th year this upcoming season. We are
dedicated to making this season our best
yet. While we look ahead to the future, we
do not forget where we come from and the
impact the McMinnville community has had
on our success as a theater.
The Gallery Theater began in 1968 as the
Gallery Players of Oregon. Without a
permanent location, we performed shows in
the Renshaw Gallery at Linfield College.
The name Gallery Theater came from
performing in this location. Over the last 50
years, we have not only gained a permanent
home, but helped to build a community that
values the arts.

The show stars Mary Smalley as
Fiona and John Smith as Shrek. Both
actors are veterans of the Gallery
Theater, but this is the first show in
which either is a leading character.
The Gallery Theater is pleased to
have a show that is fun for the whole
family. This is a show that children
and adults alike will enjoy.
This is the kind of feel good show
we love to do at the end of the year,

We are thrilled to be celebrating this
milestone with all of you and are
looking forward to another 50 years of
putting on shows. We hope you will
join us this season for our six shows
as well as our 50-year Anniversary
Celebration.
As we close out the 2017 season, we
are looking forward to continue to
entertain the residents of Yamhill
County and cant wait to see you at
our final show of the season, "Shrek
the Musical!"

This show will mark the completion
of the 2017 season. The 2017 season
featured the shows "Calendar Girls,"
"Reefer Madness," "The Gin Game,"
"To Kill A Mockingbird," "Stop Kiss"
and finally "Shrek the Musical." The
Gallery Theater is looking forward to
its 2018 season, which will also mark
the 50th Anniversary of the theater.
The shows for the 2018 season
will be released at the first
performance of Shrek the Musical. As
the end of the 2017 season comes
along, remember to purchase your

Profile

A profile of Mary Smalley

When Mary Smalley is
on stage, she feels like she
is home. Mary participated
in her first theater
production in the 5th grade
and was hooked. The next
11 years were spent on
stage whether it be as a
dancer or an actor. When
she moved to McMinnville
to go to Linfield College,
she knew she would find
her community within the
performing arts. She
found that community with
the Gallery Theater.
My favorite part about
performing at Gallery
Theater is that I get to do
what I love with really great
people, said Smalley. We

stage, I can feel the energy
