Guidance Trouble Shooting Coolant Temperature Light On

!!! . Assuredly if all oil level normal condition

!!! . Ask the operator if first problem : Transmission overheat , Brake cooling overheat , etc
!!! . Visual check movement coolant inside radiator upper tank :
If coolant indication "Bubble" : Following procedure check Radiator bubble
~ Special tools : 1. Radiator cap tester
2. Infra Red thermometer (Raytex)
3. Pressure gauge 10 Kg/cm
4. Quick coupler PT 1/8"
5. L-Key 5 mm

Check actual condition coolant temperature

A. When coolant temperature normal
~> Check electric system
B. When coolant temperature over heat
~> Go to next step

Check coolant level actual condition

A. When coolant level too low
~> Check external leakage
(Used radiator cap tester)
B. When any hose or collant line broken
2 ~> Check Pressure valve condition
~> Check blockage inside coolant line
~> Check blockage at breather reservoir tank
C. When coolant level normal condition

~> Go to next step

1. Adj Nut Check Fan belt tention

1 2 2. Adj Bolt Procedure:
1. Lossen lock nut adjuster
2. Turn adjuster bolt until contact with bracket
3. Add 360
4. Tighten lock nut

A. When abnormal: adjust following procedure

B. When normal condition

~ Go To Next Step

Check condition of pulley & V - belt

~> Worn , crack & any grease at contact
surface between pulley & V-Belt

 Check condition of radiator fin
~> Blockage , fin damage & condition of sheet

A. When abnormal: ~ Clean up Radiator fin

Check water pump function

Procedure :
1. Release inside pressure cooling system
2. Install coupler PT 1/8 at corrosion resistor
mounting bracket
3. Install pressure gauge 10 Kg/cm
4. Running engine & check pressure
Std : Low idle = 0.6 Kg/cm
7 High idle = 1.6 Kg/cm

A. When abnormal ~> Replaced Water pump

Check port B. When normal condition

Check Thermostat function

Procedure :
1. Running engine until working temperature
( Min 80 C )
2. Check temperature at by pass tube
( From thermostat housing to lower tank
Radiator )
Note :
1 ~ Check with "Raytex" 1 Meter from
2 thermostat housing
1. By pass Tube 3. Check temperature at coolant return tube
8 2. Coolant return tube ( From thermostat housing to radiator )

4. Keep running engine until temperature go

to up
A. When normal condition :
~ Temperature at by pass tube max 90 C 3
~ Temperature at return tube > 90 C
B. When abnormal condition :

~ GO To Next Step

Check function of radiator

Upper tank Procedure :
1. Running engine until working temperature
B 2. Check temperature at core radiator
Note :
~ Upper : 2 cm from upper tank radiator
~ Lower : 10 ~ 15 cm from lower tank

9 Normal condition :
~ Different between Upper & lower = 4 ~ 7 C

Abnormal condition :
~ >7 C = Radiator core cloged
Lower tank ~ < 4 C = Abnormal air flow from radiator fan
- Fin radiator cloged
A = 2 cm - Fan belt slip
B = 10 ~ 15 Cm - Fan blade damage
 Bubble check procedure

Radiator pressure & vacuum valve malfunction
Caused :
1 If coolant level in the sub tank increase when engine running ? 1. Pressure valve setting pressure too low ~ Used radiator cap tester for test pressure valve
2. Vaccum valve jamed (opened) ~ Visual check vaccum valve

Blockage at coolant line (over pressure)

2 If any hose coolant line broken ?
Caused :
1. Pressure valve setting pressure too high ~ Used radiator cap tester for test pressure valve
2. Return line from engine to radiator bloked ~ Visual check movement coolant when engine running
3. Radiator core blocked ~ Check function of radiator with infra red thermometer (Raytex)
(Difference between upper & lower tank 4 ~ 7 C)

Procedure check :
Running engine high idling with working temperature
A. When coolant continue come out from radiator not following bubble
Caused
1. Radiator core cloged (suction too late) ~ Check function of radiator with infra red thermometer
(Difference between upper & lower tank 4 ~ 7 C)
2. Suction line leakage ~ Used radiator cap tester for test pressure valve

3 Visual check condition coolant inside upper tank
B. When coolant continue come out from radiator following bubble
Air pressure entering cooling system
Caused :
1. Cyl head air compressor leak
2. Cylinder head leak (gasket or cyl head crack)
3. Cylinder block / cylinder liner crack
~ Running engine with air commpressor unload position one by one
~> see phenomena inside upper tank
~ Running engine low idle & cut off cylinder one by one
~> see phenomena inside upper tank for decession
Where cylinder problem ???
~ Remove oil pan & apply standard pressure inside cooling system
~ Visual check crankcase compartment
