Whats Happening Now?
Integral, Quality Education Provide coherent curricula; a well-formed, professional,

administration, faculty, and staff, and adequate facilities and finances.

My family has fallen from four to three since my sister has gone off to the University of

Oregon. Because she has gone it means I get all the attention, both positive and negative, of my

parents. Breathing down my neck about grades, homework, college essays/applications, and

financial aid. Every so often I still talk with my sister about how school is going, help with

making my decision for school next year, and helping me through rough spots. My sister has

been with me and there for me to spew my thoughts out to that I could never think of a life

without her.
My education has given me so much. Ive been accepted to Michigan State in the physics

department and its been with the help of my teachers and counselors. Being in honors math and

science courses my entire time here at Chaminade has been a major part of my life and its

helped me figure out what I want to do with my life after high school and college. Mr. Nakamura

has made math and physics so much fun with how he teaches and keeps people engaged to his

class that it has made me want to go into a field of physics. In addition I have learned so much

from Mr. Hoffman about music and may life skills that I will take with me for the rest of my life.

The education that I have been given at Chaminade has given me the abilities to excel in

whatever profession I choose.

With music being a big part of my life I had toured the country over the summer with a

drum corps and wanted to do the same with a better group. The quality of education I learned

both from the drum corps and from the drum instructors for the marching band and indoor

drumline have given me the abilities to audition for a top open class drum corps. I decided to
audition for the Santa Clara Vanguard Cadets and earn a position on the snare line. I had made

the callback camp in February, but was the last cut. Chaminade has given me the tools to nurture

my talents and I did the best that I could with them. Sometimes your best isnt enough for what

others want or its not as good as someone elses best. Thats life, but you get back up and try

again.
At Chaminade my understandings of faiths and religions have increased. I have learned

so much about Catholicism from my seven semesters and a lot about eastern world religions

from my first semester senior year. My own Jewish faith has been strengthened because I was

able to see many Jewish aspects in Catholicism. For Petes sake the Old Testament is the Torah.

So many values that Judaism has is found in so many other religions that its hard not to see

some sort of Jewish something in everything that is taught in religion.

This year at Chaminade has been full of lasts. Last homecoming, last pep band

performance, and sadly my last marching band competition. I was only able to go to three of the

four because I cut off my finger the week before the band went to prelims and was released the

day the band left. Sophomore year we didnt qualify for prelims in that circuit. Junior year we

made Grand Championships for the first time in school history. This year I put my heart and soul

into that last performance so that if we didnt make it past prelims I wouldnt have any regrets

coming off the field. Unfortunately we didnt make is past prelims, but I couldnt be prouder of

what I had done that year and my final performance. Being an emotional person when we came

back and as I was driving home from school I shed some tears knowing that I was done.
