LOCAL GOVERNMENT LEADERSHIP ACADEMY @ AREA ASSOCIATIONS 2017

The LGLA was pleased to have a presence at each of the five Area Associations this spring
allowing us to spread the word throughout the province about the LGLA Certification
program and leadership development opportunities for elected officials and senior
administrators. In addition to certification and program flyers being available onsite at each
event, we were able to sponsor the following sessions:

AVICC LGLA sponsored both the Mayors Caucus and the Electoral Area Directors
Forum.

SILGA LGLA sponsored a presentation by Randy Diehl, retired Kamloops CAO, on

his recently published book Serving with Pride in the Public Eye.

AKBLG, NCLGA and LMLGA LGLA sponsored a presentation by former Nelson City
Councillor Donna Macdonald on her recent book Surviving City Hall.

We congratulate the Area Associations on a successful spring conference season and we look
forward to continued work and relationship building with our AKBLG, AVICC, LMLGA, NCLGA
and SILGA colleagues.
