Alex Morgan: Leading to Her Success

Always work hard, never give up and fight until the end because its never really over

until the whistle blows, are the wise words Alex Morgan once said about ambition. Ambition

today can be expressed in different ways through a sport, money, life goals, etc. Alex Morgans

ambition is clear towards soccer and her newest book series, Saving the Team.

Alex Morgan wasnt always a successful woman. Morgan tried out for her first club

soccer teamteam name unknownwhen she was 12-13. Unfortunately, she didnt make the

cut because the coaches felt she lacked technical skills, but that didnt stop Morgan. Instead, next

year she tried out for another team known as Cypress Elite and made the team. Her ambition not

only kept her to stay committed to soccer, but also lead her to work harder on her skills. She

practiced with her father 3 times a week by taking out a net and shooting. After making her first

club soccer team, she joined her high schools soccer team a couple years later. Alex tore her

ACL during her senior year of high school. Alexs ambition didnt stop her from returning from

the injury, getting back on the field 5 months later, unlike Finny from A Separate Peace who

could never play a sport again. The doctor didnt look at me, and barely changed his tone of

voice. Sports are finished for him, after an accident like that. Of course (Knowles, 29).

Alex Morgan is not only empowering people around the world through her amazing

soccer skills, but she is now empowering young female readers through her new book series

Saving the Team. The main reason she wrote the books was because she wanted young girls to

dream big. She once stated, Its about seeing girls be confident in what they want to

pursue.Alex Morgan wrote not one, not two, but three books; all about the joys of making new

friends and teamwork.

At 22 years old, Morgan became the youngest member ever selected to the US Womens

National Team. In 2012, Alex Morgan won the U.S. Soccer Federations Female Athlete of the

Year Award. Forward starAlexandra Morganbroke history February 10, 2016 by breaking

the record of the fastest goal ever scored. In just 12 seconds Morgan put the ball into the net,

leading to the end score of 5-0 against Costa Rica. This year alone, Alex has scored 44 goals. She

is also an Olympic gold medalist. Well, how did I do? I looked at the watch; he had broken A.

Hopkins Parkers record by.7 second (Knowles, 19).

Ambition to be the best she can be has driven Alex Morgan to become successful not

only in her soccer career, but also in her writing. Alex Morgan said, When I leave the game, I

want to go out on top, and with her ambition today she definitely will. Alex Morgans ambition

has made her millions of dollars, success, and hundreds of fans.
