Dear Dr. Douglass Moss:

I am applying for the Itinerant Music Teacher position. I became aware of this position through
EdJoin.org. I am expressing interest in this position because the mission of the Mountain View
School District resonates deeply with my own teaching philosophy. Specifically, I truly believe
that teachers provide the foundation for sustained educational excellence for students. I believe
in the value of helping children develop into responsible, contributing citizens and lifelong
learners. I believe that engaging students in group music making is an excellent way to approach
this goal because it helps develop a sense of community and encourages hard work and
determination.
I am diligent, trustworthy, passionate about music, and I never stray from a challenge. I have
worked with many students through various teaching internships that Ive held and through
volunteer work. I have experience in teaching both instrumental and general music. Although I
specialize in teaching stringed instruments and general music, my coursework at Boston
University and the University of Redlands has prepared me to teach woodwind, brass, and
percussion instruments, as well as choir. I believe that I will contribute positively to your school
district because of the experience that I bring with me. Furthermore, being a lifelong learner
myself, my teaching style is dynamic and inclusive. I strive to differentiate my teaching
strategies in order to meet the needs of all of my students and I enjoy looking for new ways to
improve my own teaching.
I would be eager and honored to be a part of the Mountain View School District. Thank you for
taking the time to read my letter of introduction and resume. If you have any questions, you can
contact me on my cell phone (909) 753-5101, or by email rubenpsl@bu.edu.

Sincerely,
Ruben Pascual
