The Semesters Progression

I never noticed that I can write this well until I took this course. I
always felt like I never liked my writing or that I wasnt a good writer in
anybodys eyes but thats not the case. I have really changed as a writer
over the semester. Ive became a better writer over this semester because of
my writing organization skills and my revision skills. These are the skills that
helped my writing to sound more fluent.
My writing organization skills helped me to become a better writer this
semester because my papers have a based outline that helps me as I go
along now. Taking this course trained me on that skill and helped me to
organize my thoughts. I know that your introduction paragraph should
contain a thesis statement and a hook. This way you will draw the reader of
your essay in and you will also have a purpose of writing with the thesis.
Then you should make paragraphs from the main points of the thesis
statement, with topic sentences beginning those paragraphs. Organization
skills also comes from pre-writing. Pre-writing helps you sort out your
thoughts on paper instead of trying to look at your thoughts in your mind.
Pre-writing helps you not lose your train of thought. This semester I was
stuck on what to write a few times but organizing my thoughts helped me to
come up with something, then I wrote it down and kept writing ideas.
Organizing help me to become a better writer also because I used have a
good supporting details and not where in the paragraph to put it. It helped
me to see what my writing would actually look like before I wrote it almost.
My revision skills helped me to become a better writer this semester
because the essays I turned in were always five times better than the
original one I wrote. I give credit to paper revising on that one because if I
didnt I wouldve turn in work nowhere near my full capability. Revising your
paper catches minor mistakes and major mistakes. Those minor mistakes
could be something a little as a comma or period. It could also be a missing
capital letter on a specific word. Major mistakes that revision catches could
be that you didnt write the paragraphs in order by the thesis statement. You
may have put the first main point in the paragraph place of the second main
point. This all circles back to organization skills and if you do a good job
organizing you might not have to change a lot of things after revising.
Revising has to be the most important thing to do when writing an essay.
When I revised my papers this semester I felt more confident turning them in
and I felt like it sounded like I put effort into it. Revising not only helps on
correcting missed mistakes, but it also helps you realize you could use better
word choice for certain parts of your essay.
This semester I learned a lot. I learned a lot about myself and a lot
about what the class had to teach. I honestly think I became a more superior
writer because my improved organization skills and revision skills. The way I
organize my essay makes it much more easier revising it. People dont
realize how much these little skills can help you to build the best essay of
your ability. This semester helped make me the writer I am today and the
writer I will be in the future.
