Simn Bolivar was born on July 24,1783 in caracas, New Granada which is now venezuela he

moved to spain after his parents died to finish is education he also got married to Mari Teresa in

1802 but when they got back to his home country in 1803 mari had sickened and died from

yellow fever after his wifes death he became a political person and returned to europe with a

good friend to help him get going but this did not suit him he returned to venezuela and after a

year of being home napoleon invaded spain this upset the spanish authority and people like

Bolivar saw this as an opportunity to get free of spain and after a few meetings on April 10, 1810

the spanish governor was overthrown.

Bolivar was sent on a mission to united kingdom to get arms and help with their

revolution this did not go as planned but it did let Bolivar get some more political practice and

understanding of how their political setup is ran by 1815 the spanish had have enough of this

rebellion so they sent the strongest expeditionary force ever to cross the Atlantic ocean in

command of this force was Pablo Morillo ones aware of this situation Bolivar again asked the

United kingdom when they said no he turned to ask the United States Of America when they said

no he turned to a small neighbor haiti they agreed to help the resistance so they gave money and

weapons to the resistances.

Bolivar decided to set up a new HQ in the Orinoco River region this is the only place so far not

devastated by the war this is where he would set up his capital Angostura than Bolivar got a

brilliant plan he was going to attack the city of New Granada this attack would become one of

the most daring attack in military history their group consisted of 2500 men they march but this

was the rainy season so plains and rivers flood so the men marched in water up to their waist for

every river it there were ten rivers they had crossed even though some of the men were lucky

they had small boats when they finally reached their location the city of New Granada once the

attack was set the spaniards were caught off guard with this attack.

After this attack Bolivar was made the president and the military director he urged the

legislature to create a new state and three days later the Republic of Columbia was established, in

1820 Bolivar got the news that their was a revolution in spain this caused the king of spain

Ferdinand third this lead to a six month peace but after the recovery of spain they were ready

again but in this six month peace Bolivar was able to get and train more troops and get a better

equip military then came the battle of Carabobo in june of 1821 with this victory Bolivars

homeland of Venezuela was free and one by one Bolivar and his forces were liberating

countries/states from spain.

In september of 1828 Bolivar had declared himself dictator but due to an

assassination attempt in the same year he gave up so after that hiccup in his life he was

going to sail for europe but just before he left he died on December 17, 1830 due to what

some say was a battle with disease.
