content (required) each trimester. Over the course of the year,

students still earn 1.0 required English credit and .5 elective credit
in this model - but it would be split evenly over three trimesters.
Currently, students earn .5 elective credit for Trimester 1 and 1.0
English credit for Trimesters 2 and 3 - and grading matches this
structure.

Are there any other AVID courses in other content areas? If so, are
they using a similar structure? Are there any reasons to reject this
plan?

Music Promotion - Renae Is this ok? Other allieds are concerned.
Greetings choral parents and guardians!
Registration materials were handed out in your student's
Cardinal CORE class yesterday, and I wanted to take a
quick moment to share a few things with you about
registering for choir.
First, choir is a three-trimester course. We know this takes
a great deal of time in your student's schedule. You may
feel like it is too much to ask when they are also trying to fit
in many other important courses. One thing to keep in
mind is that registration is not a one-year problem. Many
families look at registration and are overwhelmed because
the open boxes fill so quickly. This problem is easily fixed
when you fill in all boxes through the senior year (this grid
can be found in the orange book on page 5). Every year in
school, your student will have more and more time to fill
and if you save some classes for later (health, for example),
you will find there is plenty of time to fit in choir for all four
years.
Second, this registration does not reflect your student's
placement into an ensemble for next year. They should
register for Choir Level II, all year, to show their
commitment to continuing in the choral program. The one
week process happening now only shows whether your
student has choir as one of their top two electives. The
placement process will not begin until February and is
conducted in class over a number of assignments.
Lastly, many studies have shown the deep benefits of
studying music. The video in the following link addresses

made about playing an instrument can also be applied to
singing. Please take a moment to watch this well put

ardently believe that making music together every day

NONE And if not, does the district encourage us to keep those two

The thought behind this is to develop a more diverse student body

but not having that same demographic represented in our honors
classes makes us consider alternatives to increase the interest and
diversify the sections.

-Bruce Pros:
- Eliminates the option of losing files as staff Tech Facilitators will check on the linked document and
change or move in and out of teams folder capacity to see what the benefits are to:
- Drag folders from desktop (downloaded) into the TALS
new TeamDrive to allow the docs to be functional no Curriculum Writing
matter who was the owner Shared Team Documents
- Any folders that are moved from my drive
into teamDrive become a new location- not a copy
- any Links to documents may be lost???
