Summary/Abstract
- The content of this report is the Relationship of Electricity and
Magnetism. We tested the Oersteds theory with this experiment. We also used a
significant numbers of materials included: aluminium wire and battery as the
conductor.
Objective:
After we learned about the electricity in class, we gather all the information and
then we will do an experiment to prove that the experiment is going correct and
test that electric current has magnetic field.
Background information:
Electromagnetism is a branch of physics involving the study of the electromagnetic
force, a type of physical interaction that occurs between electrically charged
particles. The electromagnetic force usually exhibits electromagnetic fields such as
electric fields, magnetic fields, and light and is one of the four fundamental
interactions (commonly called forces) in nature. The other three fundamental
interactions are the strong interaction, the weak interaction, and gravitation.
Background
information law :
Oersteds Law
states that when a steady electric current passes through a wire it creates a
magnetic field around it.
Magnetic fields are produced by electric currents, which can be macroscopic
currents in wires, or microscopic currents associated with electrons in atomic
orbits.
Hypothesis:
If the Oersteds Law is true then the metal rod and the battery will be able to
create the magnetic field.
Procedure:
1.first,we must prepare hot glue,plastic board,metal rod, wooden box,batteries,copper
2. Cut the plastic board into eight piece in the same length(to make a pole) and also
cut another one in a large size to stick under the wooden box.
3.then we use a glue to stick the plastic board with the wooden box and wait until it
stick together.
6. And then put a compass on the middle of the wooden board and must close to
Materials:
1.Plastic board
2.Metal rods
3.Wooden box
4.Batteries
5.Copper wire
6.Compass
Conclusion:
In conclusion our experiment was successful, based on the research that we have
done with the information that we have learn in the class we use the information
that we have we adapt to our experiment and make it success.
