Sporadic Start-up Problems with Comfort Panels TP/KP700, TP/KP900 and TP/KP1200

Dear Sir or Madam,

High access rates of applications to the internal memory of the Comfort Panels (e.g. high rate of system alarms as
well as numerous switch on/offs of the Comfort Panels) may sporadically cause start-up problems with these
Comfort Panels.

Being switched on the display shows the start animation for approx. 10 minutes and turns black after that the
cursor blinking white. Subsequently the concerned Comfort Panel needs to be repaired by customer maintenance
or after sales service.

In WinCC V13 SP1 Upd.9 (planned for 07/2016 and available under
https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/de/en/view/109311724 free of charge for you) the internal memory was
improved resulting into more stability and resilience of the Comfort Panels at numerous switch on/offs and at high
rate of system alarms.

Should a Comfort Panel shows the described start-up problem, we recommend to upgrade all Comfort Panels with
similar projects to the above mentioned WinCC version as soon as possible, in order to minimize the probabilities
of further failures.
