17thcenturyGermany.TheymovedtoacountrycalledScotland.Therethey
respelledthenameRussell.Theytookonthewaysoftheirnewhomeland.
TheEnglishtriedtosettleProtestantsfromScotlandinIrelandinorderto
controltheIrish.WhentheopportunityopeneduptogototheEmeraldIsland
(Ireland)withtheScottishsettlerswhowenttotheplantationUlstertheywent.
Itispossible,butnotknownforsurethattheylearnedtoknowtheRutherford's
eitherinScotlandorIreland.Scotlandrepeatedlyappearsasthesourceof
muchofthereligiousheresyconnectedwiththePower.ThatC.T.Russells
familywereinScotlandforaperiod,andalsofromtheGermanstateswhich
seemtobeahotbedforJewishSatanismmaybeonlyacoincidenceandthen

showsitwasnorthofthetownofAckley,Iowa.Itturnsoutthatamannamed
WilliamAckleyhadpurchasedthelandinthatarea,andhadsolditinlarge
parttoScotIrishsettlersofthePresbyterianfaithastheywerecomingto
America.AtthetimeCT.RussellsmotherdiedatownnamedAckleyhad
beenstakedoutin1857,buttheCivilWarhadinterferedwithconstruction
plans.APresbyteriancongregationhadbeenformedintheareaduringthe
early1860sintheAckleyarea,whichindicatessomesettlershadarrived.
WhatconnectiondidtheRussellshavewiththeAckleysyearsbeforeCharles
T.andhisfathermarriedAckleysisters?WhoaretheAckleys?MariaAckley,
whowasCharlesT.Russellswife,waswelleducatedandanexcellentwriter.

In1852,theJosephLyttleRussellfamilyhadababywhotheygavethesame
nametoashisunclehad.Thisbaby,namedCharlesTazeRussellhada
brotherFrankwhowastwoyearsolder,butCharlesendedupthefavoriteof
hisfather.LaterCharleswouldgetasisterMargaretM.BothCharlesT.and
hissisterMargaretspokeonvariousoccasionsthathishadbeenchosen
beforehisbirthfortheworkthathewastocarryout.1Margaretreferredtoher
brotherasthegreatestmanalive"agiantunmatched."Shestatedthathehad
beenchosenforhisreligiousworkbeforehisbirth.Perhaps,CharlesRussell
