Identify where each syllable/sound belongs on the staircase c. Do different combinations and have them echo. d. Next, work on identifying the solfege syllables of Ickle Ockle i. First, identify the highest and lowest sounding words in the song by showing the highs and lows with gross body movements. ii. Establish that the highest word in the song corresponds to the syllable la and the lowest sounding word corresponds to the syllable do. iii. Have students figure out the rest of the syllables of the song. e. Sing song with kerwin hand signs, and then in solfege. V. New Game Song: Obwisana a. Make a circle (sing 2,4,6,8) b. Practice keeping a steady beat in different ways. (Heart beat and patting lap) c. Keep steady beat by passing rhythm sticks around in a circle. d. Pass sticks to the beat of Obwisana VI.
