Learning is capability of gathering knowledge, which is permanent change, and

transformation of process in achieving information for particular subjects. Learning is
a process combining input, process and reflection model which changes the
behaviour of person. This defies specific definition as depends on the input process.
(Newton, 2012)

Self-managed learning is process by which employees learning through different

function of the organisation and own experiences as well as skill implemented on the
workplace. (Gravells, 2010)

Five types of self-managed learning

Learning through research

Learning from others

Seminars

Internet

Social networks

Seminars: Seminar provides insights knowledge about practical knowledge about

different topics available in the workplace. It has been conducted by expertise of
particular subjects. This provides opportunities to employs to extend their chances of
increasing knowledge and learning process. As an assistant of local state agency, I
can bring different change in strategy and knowledge management of my origination
through the gathered information from the seminars (John McLeod, McLeod John
McLeod Julia, 2014). Attending seminars is not expensive. By managing time in the
evening, I can attend seminars.

Internet: In todays age, internet is huge platform that allows to access all kinds of
information needed and allows to establish a communication channel among
relevant person. For example, maximum organisation has their own website which is
a medium of getting sophisticated information about the organisation and their
people. On the other hand, research allows to go deep about a subject with
secondary information. Author of this assignment can go into internet and collect,
analyse and interpret information to gather knowledge about a subject. The local
state agency will enrich information and knowledge management if they conduct

research on the present scenario of market and behaviour of the employees (Diana
Whitney, Amanda Trosten-Bloom, Kae Rader, 2010).

Social networks: Social networks platform to establish interact relationship with

others. There are lot of renowned site like Facebook, twitter, Pinterest and so on.
With this easy access of social networks, author of this assignment will be able to
gather vast knowledge from other experiences people if they share knowledge about
practical experiences. On the other hand, there are some dedicated social networks
dedicated to the business organisation like Business insider, the economist and so
on. By collecting knowledge and acquiring it, one can implement in another suitable
situation of Business Company. This free sectors helps to expand knowledge and
ensure personal as well as professional development to ensure productivity and
efficiency in the workplace (Robert K. Throop, Marion B. Castellucci, 2010).if I utilize
the resources of social networks, then I will be more connected with people and
expertise who will help me to develop myself without physical appearances.

From the scenario, it is found that the local agency is maintaining a competitive
environment in the workplace. That is why, an employee should have developed
lifelong learning process to become skilled employee.

Lifelong learning is process of learning for long span of life by which that person
continues his way to acquire knowledge. The lifelong learning process is formed on
the basis of personality, lifestyle demographic factors and passion about learning. It
is required most too time of life and patient of continue this process. (Cliff Ricketts,
John Ricketts, 2010)

5 approaches of lifelong learning for personal and professional development

Encouraging self-directed learning requires self-assessment about own strength

and weakness and then converting weakness into own strength. Author of this
assignment can acquire adequate skill development training after this assessment by
attending seminars, using internet fledged devices, or by self-teaching by using own
potential confidence to learn anything. Self-learning is based on the personal
viewpoint, vision about a particular subjects and endorsement of own talents. By
analysis these factors, one can get improvement in personal and professional
development. (Ulrich D. Holzbaur, Laetus Lategan , Karin Dyason, 2012)

Unit 13: Personal and Professional Development January 2017

On the other hand, author can be continuing professional development practices.

Author can go through several programs in his/ her lifelong learning processes. This
process is consistent process which does not require any classrooms to achieve. To
support it, author of this assignment can go for higher studies with a desired
course. After an investigation on the courses and its output as well as curriculum
structure and it reflects on development, author will decide to take higher studies.
(Ann Masters, Harold R. Wallace, 2012)

Apprenticeships allows a person to fulfil the lacking in the professional and

personal expertise on certain field.as an agent of local state agency, I can be offered
and offer apprenticeships so that it can be helpful to be understood activities of the
organisation and to find a process to work efficiently here. (Robert K. Throop, Marion
B. Castellucci, 2010)

Credit Accumulation and Transfer Scheme allows to establish practices of

assessment of culture within workplace and it screens opportunities of find the
undertaking though various processes and timeline. Many colleges within United
Kingdom offers this course and this is well known courses available in this country
which has long last effects. The colleges offer 120 credit hour in every year to
achieve this courses on Credit Accumulation and Transfer Scheme. Author of
assignment can get into a college to achieve adequate knowledge about his
particular topic as it will be helpful for state agency. (Diana Whitney, Amanda

Self-managed learning (SML) is process of finding best opportunities through

learning without anyones concern about that topic. This is an activity by which
author can be decide by his/ her own without anyones help. For example, in local
state agency if author finds any kinds of mismanagement or misguided activities, the
author can find right opportunities to cover up the lacks. This process creates a
sense of working with own merit with a solution for problems. For another example,
Rome was not build in one days. By developing their views for several centuries, it
has been built. (Heather E. Canary, Robert D. McPhee, 2010)

There are a lot of advantages of self-managed learning process. The endeavours will
last for long in these small activities. This has huge effects on the independent
business which helps to make decision to set up own business goals and to make
differences in market place. This process of self-guided knowledge is required for top
level management of the agency where author is an employee. As role of author to
provide instruction, he can enable inactive capabilities to another advantage is to
have increased rate of success and establishment of good authority. Self manages
learning reduces other cost regarding learning and it also resolve the preparation
cost. These costs are mostly important for organisation. In fine we can say that
increasing team work, best sharing of knowledge and expertise within the
organisation are the best advantages of self-managed learning process. (Diana
Whitney, Amanda Trosten-Bloom, Kae Rader, 2010).

learn decision for critical situation. Some reflection of PDP on my own has been
given below-

I wanted to increase product selling by 5%. This was long term goals. I anm
analysing and finding customers needs on the basis of daily sales. This sales
volume is increasing well.
My second aim was learning different selling method. It is tough to implement
various method in real time selling market, that is why I facing obstacle while
achieving this aim.
I am maintaining good communication with stakeholders and investors I am
aiming to increase sales volume which is adding value in the profile.
Stakeholders and investors are happy working with me. T
In sales team, this is important to form a team. This is my short time aim and I
have formed a good team with clear and same objectives,
My aim long term aim was to be a multilingual. It is not possible to achieve
two long term aims like increasing sales volume and becoming a multilingual.
Both aims need times. I and facing problem attending the classes.
I have implemented a number technologies in the workplace. Within
November, 2017. I will cover all the workplace so that effective commutation

As per the situation provided, it is clear that there are no involvement of
