Visual Studio Uninstallation:

Steps for Visual Studio .Net Professional


2003 uninstall:
Environment: Win 7/XP
This document explains how to uninstall Visual Studio .Net Professional 2003 in
Windows 7 and XP Platform.

Note: The uninstallation steps for Windows XP machine are similar to that of
Windows 7. Also the uninstallation procedure will be applicable for all editions of
Visual Studio (Professional/Premium/Ultimate)

Please follow the below steps to uninstall Visual Studio .Net Professional 2003 and
its components.

To Uninstall Visual Studio:

1. Go to control panel and click add or remove programs. In that select


Microsoft Visual Studio .NET Professional 2003 English. Either double click
on it or if Remove button is present please click it to start the uninstall
process.

2. The Visual Studio .NET Setup Window appears as below. Please click on the
second option Visual Studio .NET

3. Then it will proceed to the Visual Studio .NET Maintenance Window as below.
Please select the option Uninstall Microsoft Visual Studio .NET Professional
2003

4. A new pop-up will appear to confirm the uninstallation. Please click ok for it.

5. Then the un-installation will proceed.

6. The following window marks the completion of VS 2003 uninstalls. Click on
done to exit the setup.

7. Once uninstall is complete, please ensure the following two components are
not present in the control panel. If present, please remove it manually.

8. Please reboot the machine once the above components are uninstalled.
After reboot , open the Registry Editor (Start Run regedit) and navigate
to the path HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE->SOFTWARE->Microsoft->Windows-
>CurrentVersion->Uninstall.
Expand the folder Uninstall and scroll down. You must not be able to see an
entry named Visual Studio .NET Professional 2003 English

Note : The registry path is same for both Win 7 and Win XP machines.

The below screenshot shows the registry editor before the uninstallation,
where the Visual Studio .NET Professional 2003 English is present. This
entry must not be present after the reboot of the machine.

Once you reboot and ensure the registry entry is not present, the Visual
Studio .NET Professional 2003 uninstallation is complete.
