Motoristscanallowchildrenovertheageof10orabove145cmlengthtositinthefrontseatswhileontheroad.Theyareobligedto
providecarseatsforchildrenagedfouryearsorlessintherearseats.

Forthegrantingorrenewalofdrivinglicences,theagerequirementshallbemet.Applicantsmaynothavediseasesthatimpedeor
affecthisabilitytodriveascertifiedbycompetenthealthauthorities.He/sheshouldpassthedrivingtestconductedbythelicensing
authorityandmustpaythespecifiedfees

Itisnotpermittedtodriveamotorisedtwoorthreewheelersunlesstheyareregisteredandlicensedbythelicensingauthority.No
personmaydriveamotorisedvehiclewithoutobtainingadrivinglicence

Thelicensingauthorityistocoordinatewiththeauthorityconcernedtoregulatethetransportinaparticularemiratetoallocateabus
routeanddeterminetheroutesandtimesassignedforitsoperation.Othervehiclesmaynotpassonthetracksdesignatedforsuchbuses,
exceptcivildefence,ambulance,rescueandpolicevehiclesinthecourseofduty.

Hereareotheramendments,inthetrafficlaw,issuedinaministerialdecreebySheikhSaifbinZayedAlNahyan

Newdrivinglicencesinthecountryshallbeissuedonlyforaperiodoftwoyears,accordingtonewamendmentsintroducedtofederal
trafficlaws.Afterthat,licencerenewalvalidityshallbe10yearsforUAEcitizensandfivefornoncitizens.

AccordingtoaministerialdecreeissuedbySheikhSaifbinZayedAlNahyan,DeputyPrimeMinisterandMinisterofInterior,
expatriatesarerequiredtohaveavalidresidencepermitfortherenewaloflicences.

PublishedintheOfficialGazetteamendingtheexecutiveregulationsofFederalLawNo.21of1995regardingtrafficregulations,the
decreehasintroducedstrictertrafficlawsfordriversinthecountry.

Thelicensingauthoritywillcoordinatewithcompetenthealthauthoritiesinthecountrytoprovidereportsaboutpeoplewhohave
diseasesaffectingtheirabilitytodrive.

Thenewlawrulesoutuseofanykindofmotorisedbicyclesorthreewheelerswithoutproperregistrationandlicence,withthefinal
wordonthetypeofvehiclebeingthelicensingauthorityandthelocalauthorityintheemirate.
