INTRODUCTION

This report is a brief essay that describes and differentiates between: approaches,
methods and techniques, used in the teaching of a language.
Where through a scheme emphasizes these different variants.

In other points it focuses in: English as a foreign language, problems of


teaching/learning English as a foreign language and some solutions to overcome
language learning difficulties.

5- DEVELOPMENT

5. 1. Difference between approach, method and technique

Approach: It is a methodological current which avoids to present the teaching of a


language as a system of rule. It doing emphasis on the perception of communication.

Whereas method: It is the procedure will serve as a guide to carry out the learning
of a language. Whereas technique: These are different perspectives applied to the
learning of a specific language.
5. 2. Approaches and methods of language teaching. (Use only a concept map
in this point):

English as a foreign language has become a necessity in the real world due to the

official language in more than forty-five (45) countries. That is why it is one of the
most spoken languages and worth learning.

5. 4. Problems of teaching/learning English as a foreign language:

The lack of preparation of teachers.

Little production in class.

Concentration too much on grammar.

Systemic interference

Lack of concentration

Fear when speaking.

Difficulties in the physical environment of the classroom.

Misconduct of the group.

Abandonment of the method and the approach.

Lack of orientation and follow-up.

5. 5. Some solutions to overcome language learning difficulties.

We can begin by changing the study area or classroom environment for more
comfortable places. We also review the teaching-learning method and approaches to
see if they are suitable for such management. On the contrary change it for some
more dynamic and modern. Since this way the interaction of the students will be of
greater use, yielding, assimilating and obtaining the learning.

CONCLUSIN

This report leaves me as personal reflection the knowledge about the description of
approaches, methods and techniques of teaching. Once these parts are understood,
we can affirm that they are so important for the development of our educational
competences.
With this essay we can clarify a little more the particular ideas that we had on these
topics for the way of teaching and learning.
I conclude by inviting all readers to investigate extensively on these different
learning-learning strategies.
