What defines your hero?

Have you had someone you idolized or someone that has been around you so long that

you consider a role model? Dr.Martin Luther King Jr. used the power of words and acts of

nonviolence resistance, such as protests, grassroots organizing, and civil disobedience to achieve

impossible goals. King never let anything get in the way of his dream because he turned over the

prize money of 54,123 dollars to furtherance of the civil rights movement. A hero is someone

who is a brave, strong person who put others before themselves. A hero is not always a popular

person but someone who has a good impact on the community or world. Dr.Martin Luther King

Jr. is a modern day hero because he fought for African Americans rights, became the founder of

Southern Christian Leadership Conference(SCLC), and brought racial acceptance to the United

States to positively affect the world.

A hero is a person that is admired or idealized for courage, has outstanding achievements,

or noble qualities. For example, Dr.Martin Luther King Jr. is a hero because he has done great

things for America, such as fighting for our rights in nonviolent ways and risking his life for

others. King was someone who spoke for others when they did not have the voice to do it

because they were afraid to speak up and take action. The importance of this is that you do not

have many heroes that is willing to risk everything for what is important. King, Jr. was a man

who stood for his right and never let anyone stop him from achieving his goal.

Dr.Martin Luther King Jr. is a hero because he stood up for African American rights.

King was a voice for everyone who felt like their opinions did not matter. For example, King is

the best known for his role in the advancement of the civil rights using nonviolent civil

disobedience. This is informing us that he used his words to get power of whites instead of using

violence. The importance of King is that he spoke out and as the years started to increase blacks

were able to do what whites was allowed. Today we can say, blacks and whites are equal but

there is actually no equality in the community or elsewhere.

Dr.Martin Luther King is a current hero because he left behind a legacy to accept humans

as they are and to never judge a book by its cover. For instance, King was personally criticized

by blacks and whites clergy alike for taking risks and endangering the children who attended the

demonstration. Dr. Martin Luther King would have blacks and whites join together because he

had a dream that all would come as one and get along. King had a dream to bring all race into

one space without it being any distributions regarding what the law said. For many years, civil

rights activists, Dr.Martin Luther King Jr., had been fighting laws and social customs to secure

equality for all Americans.

Dr.Martin Luther King is considered a hero because he risked his life to get equality and

overcame many challenges that he did not let defeat him but made him a better person. For

instance, King escaped an assassination attempt a decade before his death when a black lady

came up to him and stabbed him with a letter opener. When King was stabbed by a black women,

he did not let that set him back from his goal but instead built a stronger wall inside of him that

made him go for what he wanted. Negativity always made King a better person because what

killed him made him stronger. Dr.Martin Luther King Jr. realized after his, close, death

experiences, to meet others civil rights leaders to get help from them to build a stronger empire

for African Americans.

Dr.Martin Luther King is a hero but a teacher, also, because he teaches ways for you to

get what you want without being nonviolent but to voice your opinion and order what you want.

King never used nonviolent ways to get what he want. Martin was tortured in physical ways but

responded back in a strong, powerful voice. For example, Martin Luther King stood by

everything that he promised for African Americans. He promised us equality and a better world

and made it happen by speaking up to masters who disapproved of it. This exemplifies that no

matter who you were, King never let anyone stop him from what he wanted even if it meant his

own life. Dr.Martin Luther King Jr. is someone to be called a hero because he set standards and

exceeded them and never asked for anything in return.

Dr.Martin Luther King is a current, modern day hero because he fought for African

American rights. King became the founder of SCLC and brought racial acceptance to the United

States to positively affect the world. Martin left behind a legacy that still remains today. King

dream was to demand equality for all and have justice. Today we live in a world where we are

revealing his dream to come true again. Being a hero is very important to many who do not have

role models in their life. Seeing someone as, Dr.Martin Luther King Jr., stick by his dream and

make it come to life, proves he is a man of his words and are willing to put himself second to

succeed on others behalf. Dr.Martin Luther King Jr. was set to believe and achieve his dream.

Day by day proved that King was making his dream come alive by living it. Dr.King leaves

behind a path of justice and dreams for us to continue on.
