It is with great pleasure to recommend Jessica Ackley for a teaching position. She is an exceptionally well-qualified candidate. I worked with Jessica during her yearlong internship in Forest Hills Public Schools as her field instructor. I have observed Jessica teach in both special education and general education settings. First semester, Jessica worked in a small group setting with kindergarten - fifth grade students with Individualized Education Plans in the areas of ASD, EI, OHI, and LD, focusing on reading, writing, and math. Second semester, Jessica worked with a diverse group of 24 second grade students, lead teaching all subject areas. Jessica actively participated in several IEPs, created classroom positive behavior systems, co-led parent/teacher conferences, and attended building professional development and in-services. In addition to teaching, Jessica also managed to complete graduate level courses as well. Dedication and a commitment to excellence accurately describe Jessicas character.
Jessica is a highly professional and conscientious individual. She demonstrates a
real passion for teaching and, because of her enthusiasm, is able to develop a wonderful rapport with students, staff, and parents. Jessica demonstrates a high level of preparedness, positive energy, and flexibility. She is reflective about her teaching and is eager to further strengthen her instructional skills. Jessicas joy in teaching has been evident in every lesson I have observed. She plans varied and interesting lessons that are based on grade level curriculum and include College of several learning styles. Jessica incorporates each childs strengths and areas of Education challenge which allows her to differentiate curriculum to meet individual needs and Department of ensure student success.
