The Bible says that while laziness is not God's desire and planning is good, one must make plans with humility, leaving room for God to alter the plans according to His will. Proverbs teaches that diligent planning leads to profit, but we should say "If it is the Lord's will" when making plans. Ultimately, God determines our steps, though we make our own plans, so we must seek His kingdom first and allow Him to accomplish His sovereign purposes.

To live with no motivation or planning is not Gods desire.
This is the reason why I
am constructing a plan. Proverbs 6:6-11: You lazy people, you should watch what the ants do and learn from them. Ants have no ruler, no boss, and no leader. But in the summer, ants gather all of their food and save it. So when winter comes, there is plenty to eat. You lazy people, how long are you going to lie there? When will you get up? You say, I need a rest. I think Ill take a short nap. But then you sleep and sleep and become poorer and poorer. Soon you will have nothing. It will be as if a thief came and stole everything you owned. I cannot fail to plan ahead nor can I be lazy. Proverbs 21:5: The plans of the diligent lead to profit. But the process of setting goals must be infused with humility. The bible teaches against two extremes: never setting goals and setting goals with no thought of God. Balanced alternative is found in James 4:15: Instead you ought to say, If it is the Lords will, we will live and do this or that. It is good to make plans, as long as we leave room for God to change our plans. His goals take precedence over ours. Proverbs 16:9: In his heart a man plans his course, but the LORD determines his steps. We have our ideas and make our plans, but God will ultimately accomplish His sovereign desires. Matthew 6:33-34: Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. If our plans focus on Christ and honor Him, He will see to it that the best results the eternal results are ours.
