This new Calculite HID Co ectron is the first to olfer
the lighting specifier a complete and ju y integrated
line of downlights, wallwashers, and adjustable
accent lights, utilizing start-of-the-art technologies in
Metal Halide and White Son (color corrected high
pressure sodium) lamps.
MetaL Halide
Today's Metal Halide amps are the most etficient,
fu l-spectrum compact "point" sources available.
They produce up to five times more lumens per watt
than incandescent and enjoy an average rated life of
7,500 to 20,000 hours.
The majority of lamps listed rn this catalog have
warm color temperatures (3000'to 3500"K) and
good color rendering suitable for architectural
interiors (65 to Bl CRI). As a result, Calcu lte Metal
Halide downlights can blend well with other sources,

Recently introduced "open" N,4etal Halide lamps
do not require a glass guard. These lamps represent
a major breakthrough by simplitying relamping and
improving luminaire performance. They are available
in general service lamp shapes, and in a PAR 38
confrguration with various beamspreads.
Double ended Metal Halide lamps (HQl by
Osram) are super compact and otfer the best color
rendering among Metal Halides. Calculite HQI
luminaires incorporate electronic ballasts for super or
co or stab lity and lamp life.
White Son
White Son amps (by Philips) otfer outstand ng
co or, especially compared with incandescent. White
Son is a full-spectrum, long-life htgh pressure sodium
lamp with a very warm color (2700'K) and exce ent
color rendering (80 CRI). ln additlon, White Son
lamps operate in open luminaires, for simplif ed
re amping (no glass guard required).
The Calculite White Son downlights in this catalog
use 50 watt and 100 watt lamps, each rated at
10,000 hours average ife. Athough not as etficient
or cost etfective as Metal Halide. White Son is an
ideal source for spaces where an incandescent

quality is desired, but energy efficiency is a must.

full specnum illumination for general
lighting. Low wattage fixtures
(32w to 70w) are ideal for circulation
areas, lobbies, and retail or commercial
space s with low to medium ceiling
heights. Higher wattage fixtures
(100w to 400w) offer optimum
performance in spaces with greater
ceiling heights such as, airports, malls
and atriums. All "open" lamp fixtures
can be pole re-lamped. Fixtures ol
various wattages and beamspreads are
available with matching apeltules.
In addition, DL series apertures
match other Calculite HID fixtures,
such as wallwashers and accent lights.
