licence or probationary licence;
a taxi drivers permit.
* The holder of a Class 4C licence is also authorized to drive Class 5, 6D and 8 vehicles.
Furthermore, you cannot have been found guilty of a criminal offence within the previous 5 years.
Offering or providing a taxi transportation service without holding both a licence of the appropri-
ate class and a taxi drivers permit is an offence punishable by a fine of $2,500 to $25,000 for a
natural person. In the case of repeat offences, it may also result in your licence being suspended
and your vehicle being seized and impounded for a period of 7, 30 or 90 days.
Driving experience
To obtain a Class 4C licence, you must have held a Class 5 drivers licence or probationary licence for at least
12 months.
Medical assessment

The test consists of 30 multiple choice questions that cover:

The passing mark is 73% and the minimum wait period to take the test again is 7 days.
It is your responsibility to verify the training hours offered by training centres, as they may vary.
When you drive a taxi, you must always carry proof that you have passed the required training in the
vehicle with you.
