Nineveh Tomato
Determinate. A very acid, almost sour-tasting tomato that is best for
cooking uses. This tomato comes from Mosul (formerly Nineveh) Iraq,
but is now said to be lost to cultivation due to the long on-going war
and promotion of hybrid and gene-altered seeds. Bush plants set bright
red, small to medium sized fruit. From Aziz Nail, an Iraqi friend that
supplied us with a few seeds.

Rio Dos Temporoes

NEW! Semi-determinate, 70 days. The name means "King of the
Earlies," and this is indeed an early type for its size and quality. A
Portuguese market variety, from seed originally sent by our Portuguese
friend, Joao Barroca of Lisbon. Well-flavored fruits grow to one-half
pound, perfect for slicing and sandwiches. Uniform, flattened globes
are blemish-free and very resistant to cracking. Relatively compact
plants yielded abundantly for a couple of months in our trials. Just a
really nice, all-purpose red tomato.

sandwiches, and salad plates. Not sugar sweet, not sour. Very clean
taste, no cloying, odd, or musky aftertaste. Lots of seeds and juice,
which I like. It set fruit in my hot and humid conditions, but probably
likes dry heat better.
