Presently involved in energy efficiency research and technical

SUMMARY OF training services in such diversified technologies in Manufacturing,
EXPERIENCE Power Generation and Utilization, Transportation, Materials
AND Handling, Construction, Buildings and Facilities Management,
Environmental Pollution Controls, etc. These include the efficient
BACKGROUND
design, operations, and maintenance of the major components of
industrial and commercial energy systems, such as, Pumps, AC
Motors, Steam Boilers and Steam Systems, Gensets, Diesel
Engines, Substation/Power Transformers, HVAC and Refrigeration
Systems, Instrumentation and Controls, etc.
Rose from the ranks to become a noted corporate educator in the
broad field of technology management (human factor and
technology factor management), with more than twenty-six (26)
years of broad engineering and management experience. These
include such diversified subjects on energy efficiency improvements,
maintenance engineering, and human resource development and
management.
Given a US scholarship grant by the Philippine Government to study
the advanced technology of Nuclear Power Plant Operation and
Maintenance. As a USA-trained engineer, combined with the many
tough on-the-job and classroom training given by local government
institutions and private firms, Engr. Columna became one of the
pioneers of Nuclear Power Plant Technologies in the Philippines.
Appointed by former Secretary of Energy, Sec. Delfin Lazaro, to
head the Demand Side Management (DSM) group and to
formulate energy policy to solve the national energy crisis.
An Electro-Mechanical Engineer with PRC license # REE
0021519.

OBJECTIVE 1. Believes that with the proper applications of science and

AND MISSION technology, the country can become more competitive in
STATEMENT the global market. This can be done through a massive
technical education of the industrial workforce, and
implementing productive energy conservation to produce
more out of the same amount of energy.

2. Guided with the principle, "ENGINEERING WITH

VISION." Teach engineering not just for the sake of
teaching engineering, nor practice engineering just for
the sake of engineering practice. Always add to
engineering that often neglected, but all-important
element of VISION -- looking toward the future, to the
long-term and lifelong benefits of science and
technology to mankind and environment.
