Personal Statement

Three years ago, I asked myself. What will become real in my future? When I
have leisure time, I love to read several books in economics and business, especially
about autobiography and concepts of Warren Buffett. In the business world, the
rearview mirror is always clearer than the windshield, his quote inspire me to think
deeply about what my attention is. I do love to study English for communication and
applied mathematics in middle school. Then, I decided to find the suitable
programme for my forthcoming occupation. While I was sitting at my computer,
searching to many universities in various faculties both in Thailand and abroad, I
entered to Thammasat Business School website on Bachelor Business Administration
or BBA Programme. Since at that time I studied in Thai private school, I decided to
apply to International school for preparing to study in BBA international programme
in university level.

In my perspective, the main attraction to BBA is my belief that it will prepare

me for a career, especially for those individuals like myself who often thinks out of
the box and are ready to take on new ideas or business concepts. In high school, I
have studied several electives: economics, accountings, finance, Mandarin, and skill
for life. These electives help me to be ready for BBA successfully. With endeavour
and diligence, I get an cumulative grade point average above 3.9 in every semester. I
have great opportunities to attend clubs in high school which are Junior Achievement
company (JA company) and Model United Nation (MUN), respectively. In JA
company, I am a part in human resource that deals with the paying salary,
management, and personnel development. I decided to attend this club for improving
my business skills and learning to communicate and organise with other people. In
MUN, I practice on public speaking, debating, and writing skills, as well as critical
thinking, teamwork, and leadership abilities. Furthermore, I had an excellent occasion
to attend Hwa Chong Model ASEAN Summit (HCMAS) at Hwa Chong Institution in
Singapore. The summit is about discussion problems or conflicts in ASEAN. I was
chosen to be head of the state and delegate of Laos in economic committee. I had
learned about urban poverty and integrating of ASEAN economic and promoting
multilateral free trade. I have gained many new knowledges and how to solve and
consult about the resolution in these topics which open the world of economics and
business in my view extensively.

On a visit to your campus, I was really impressed with your Business School,
particularly the lecturers, who appeared to have real passion towards their subjects
and who also have a reputation amongst undergraduates for readily offering extra
support, guidance and encouragement to them. The facilities in the Business School
were superb, there are always plenty of computers available and the lecture theatres
are modern and well equipped. I am also attracted to your university by its reputation
for business knowledge and teaching experience along with your institutions stated
commitment to supporting the learning needs of each unique student. After much
reading, talking and visiting I have decided that your university is an ideal fit for my
academic ambitions and requirements.

I strongly believe that I have the capability and intellectual curiosity to be a

successful undergraduate in BBA. I hope to gain a thorough understanding of
business administrative skills to understand the inner workings of a company, along
with all the interconnections that occur within the organisation. The degree further
enhances the managerial skills, communication skills and decision-making abilities of
the students.
