Who dares to teach must never cease to learn." - John C.

WHY I TEACH
It is my desire that each of my students become lifelong learners, problem solvers, and
compassionate and productive citizens. I am committed to the academic and social growth
of each student. Through teaching, I am able to model my passion and enthusiasm for
education and foster a love of learning in my students.

WHAT I TEACH
In addition to the standard curriculum and academic standards, I teach my students
necessary skills for success inside and outside of the classroom such as innovative and
critical thinking, communication, and accountability and responsibility. As a facilitator, I will
guide students in developing the skills necessary for cooperative learning such as decision
making, interpersonal skills, and active listening.

HOW I TEACH
As an educator, I believe my role is to be a facilitator of learning and a guide to my
students. I believe that children learn through active involvement and engagement. A
student-centered, hands-on approach is the foundation of my instruction. In my classroom,
I rely on developmentally appropriate and best practices throughout the instructional
process. In addition, students are active participants in their learning. I believe in developing
and educating the whole child and in meeting the unique and diverse needs of each individual
through active engagement. In my classroom, I foster a caring, welcoming classroom
community to support and challenge my students in their growth and development.
