3 Sample Answers:
1. (In test tube P), the enzyme concentration is low so rate of reaction is slow.
2. (In test tube Q), the enzyme concentration is high so rate of reaction is fast.
Able to state any two inferences inaccurately
Sample answers:
2 1. (In test tube P), the enzyme concentration is low affect the rate of reaction.
2. (In test tube Q), the high concentration of enzyme affect the rate of enzyme reaction.
.
Able to state two inferences at idea level.
Sample Answer:
1. Reaction occurs. / glucose is produced.
1
2. The rate of reaction is changes / decreases / increases.
Sample Answer :
1. As the concentration of amylase enzyme increase, the time taken for the
starch to be hydrolysed completely decreases.
2. As the concentration of amylase enzyme increase, the rate of enzymatic
reaction increases.
Able to state a hypothesis inaccurately.
Sample Answer:
2 1. As the concentration of amylase enzyme increases, the time taken for the
breakdown of starch changes.
Able to state a hypothesis relating the manipulated variable at idea level.
Sample Answer :
1
1. Concentration of amylase enzyme affects the time.
0 No response or wrong response if no P1 or P2 no mark for each.
P(paksi) : Corrected title with unit on both horizontal, vertical axis and uniform
scale on the axis.
3
T(titik) : All points plotted / transferred correctly.
B(bentuk) : Able to join any two point to form a smooth graph / line and positive
gradient.
2 Able to state any two correct.
1 Able to state any one correct
0 No response or wrong response.
Relationship :
P1 = The increase in the concentration of amylase enzyme will increase the number of
active site
Explanation
P2 = because more enzyme molecule is present
3
Sample answer :
1. The increase in the concentration of amylase enzyme will increase the number of
active site (P1) because more enzyme molecule is present (P2). Higher rate of
enzyme activity (P3).
2 Able to interpret data correctly with aspects correctly with two aspects correctly.
1 Able to interpret data correctly with the only one aspect correctly.
0 No response or wrong response.
Prediction :
3 P1 : Time taken for the starch to be hydrolysed completely will increase/ more
than 10 minutes
Explanation :
P2 : Rate of enzyme reaction will be slower
P3 : Because the enzyme has denatured due to high temperature
Sample answer:
1. Time taken for the starch to be hydrolysed completely will increase/ more
than 10 minutes. Rate of enzyme reaction will be slower because the enzyme
has denatured due to high temperature
Sample answer:
1. Enzyme is the chemical substances reacts on starch (P1) which the different
concentration of amylase enzyme (P2) affects the time taken for breakdown of
starch (P3).
Able to define operationally based on the result of the experiment with two
2
aspects correctly.
Able to define operationally based on the result of the experiment with only one
1
aspects correctly.
0 No response or wrong response
1(i) [KB0602 Classifying]
2
Able to write any 3 5 factors correctly.
Sample Answer :
1. What substances are able to move across a semi-permeable
membrane?
Able to state problem statement inaccurately .
Sample Answer:
2
1. What substances are able to move across a semi-permeable
membrane
(NO question marks)
Able to state a problem statement at idea level.
1
Sample Answer:
1. Does all molecules across membrane?
0 No response or wrong response
3
P1 : (MV)
P2 : (RV)
H : Relationship
Sample Answer :
1. The diffusion of molecules through a semi-permeable membrane is
based on the size of the molecule.

Score Criteria
Able to describe the steps of the experimental correctly:
Sample Answer:
1. Soak the visking tubing in water for five minutes to soften it.Open
3 the Visking tubing and tie one end of the Visking tubing with a piece
of cotton thread to prevent leakage.
2. Fill the Visking tubing with 15 ml of glucose solution and 15 ml of
starch suspension. Tie the other end of the Visking tubing tightly
with another piece of cotton thread. Record the colour of the
solution.
3. Rinse the outer surface of the Visking tubing with distilled water.
4. Mix 400 ml of water with 15 ml of iodine solution in a beaker.
Record the colour of the solution.
5. Place the Visking tubing in the beaker.
6. Leave it for 40 minutes
7. After 40 minutes, take the Visking tubing out and put it in a dry
beaker.
8. Observe and record the colour changes in table the colour of the
solutions in the Visking tubing and in the beaker.
9. Test both solutions for the presence of glucose using the Benedicts
test. Pour 2 ml of each solution into separate test tubes and add 1
ml of Benedicts solution. Heat the solutions in a water bath for
about five minutes and record the change of colour in table.
