only hurting ourselves and our species.

Statement of Purpose Good Morning. My name is Luz Rico

Sanchez and I am here to convince you that deforestation needs
to be reduced .

Statement of Relevance How can your audience relate to this

Forests cover 31% of the land area on our planet. They produce vital oxygen and
provide homes for people and wildlife. Many of the worlds most threatened and
endangered animals live in forests, and 1.6 billion people rely on benefits forests
offer, including food, fresh water, clothing, traditional medicine and shelter.
But forests around the world are under threat from deforestation, jeopardizing
these benefits. Deforestation needs to be reduced because its hurting us humans
,depleting our animal population, by limiting their habitats and killing their ability
to survive.

For my SLE I made my current high school ( garinger high

school ) go one day with out using paper or limiting the
number of paper that is used in one day !.

Description of your 15 hour SLE

My SLE was a successful project , it took a whole 15 hours.
I talked to the principal in order for her to get permission .
I had to brainstorm the whole process , I reccived help
from and admin. I created a power point for the faculty to
see at the staff meeting . I sent a survey out for the
teachers and staff to fill out reviving various outputs, also
gathers data from there. The day came No paper day I
had various teachers follow my day , lots used computers
or other ideas that didn't involve paper. I went around
took some pictures throughout the day. Last I went around
interviewing some teachers and student on their opinions
on no paper day gathering all my data and putting it
into action.

Extension of Research How does this apply the knowledge you

gained?
I read about ways us humans use trees for and one of the
main reasons were supplies such as paper,oil, furniture
etc I came up with the paper idea after reading the
articles.

Benefit to Society How will others be positively affected by what

you created?

By reducing the amount of paper used we all as a whole

benifit from it . We are helping ourselves and our species
population out.

CONCLUSION:

Restatement of Thesis & Main Points that deforestation

needs to be reduced in order for the loss of habitats,
excessive amounts of c02 in the air (pollution) and effect
on biodiversity to decrease , helping ourselves and our
species out
