next phase of the Community Collaborative's vision for this program in our regio

It is exciting to contribute to such a critical humanitarian need in this commun

achieve our mission of addressing mental health issues in rural Texas while redu
cing jail
recidivism, we have done our job."
To answer your question, Delia responded:
"In my five years of experience working in the jail, and in the courts unit at t
he Sheriff's office, I
have seen people in a mental crisis brought into the jail and go through the cou
rts system. When
perhaps their actions could have been identified by a properly trained peace off
icer in mental
health, and therefore the individual could have been diverted from a criminal pr
osecution to
obtaining Gulf Bend services."
