A. __On October 18, 2016, White house Press Secretary Josh Earnest said the United States

was considering range of possible responses to the supposedly Russian hacking of United

States political groups. Washington D.C publicly accused the Kremlin of cyberattacks on

election systems and the democracy itself. Russia's capital Moscow denied that they were

interfering with the United States presidential election. Even in an interview with a CNN

reporter, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said it was a unjustified accusation.

Larov saying "We have not seen a single fact, a single proof. Angela Stent, director of

the Center for Eurasian said the cyberattacks may be some sort of pay back from Putin

from an incident that happen with Hillary Clinton in December of 2011. That incident

was Putin being accused of instigating December 2011 acts against him while she was

Hillary was secretary of state. __________________________

B. ____Ever since the Cold War the United States and Russia have and had very high

tension between each other. Now government officials in Russia and in the United States

are on watch to see what country will make a move first. The reason behind all this

tension is military issues between both of the countries. On several incidents Russian jets

and naval vessels have buzzed (disturbed) the U.S military. As well as Moscows 2014

infringement of a core security treaty by testing a ground-launched cruise missile. Even

one of Russias ambassadors saying "The quality of relations between us is certainly at

the lowest point since the Cold War." as well as him saying We see the United States

taking unfriendly steps toward Russia including sanctions, there are calls for isolating
 Russia," he replied, adding, "it doesn't work with Russia and it's not going to

work."Russia is even going to the extent as pulling nuclear security pact on plutonium on

October 3 the reason is "aggressive anti-Russia tendencies at the basis of the US policy

on Russia."Will these tensions get better or worse? __

C. ____There has been conflict in Syria between the United States and Russia competing for

military operations. When Washington accused the Kremlin of the recent cyber attacks

on the election system, right before that was talks on a Syrian ceasefire broke down as

US officials insisted Russia be investigated for war crimes in the attacked city of Aleppo.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and US Secretary of State John Kerry did

arrange to meet in a multilateral setting to discuss a Syrian ceasefire. Russia is supporting

President Bashar al-Assad in the attack of Aleppo, placing nuclear-capable missiles at

NATO's doorstep. Hopefully these problems can be solved.

Your Opinion of the Event (at least 3 sentences).

__I really think how all this hostility that two countries are causing is really childish and

unneeded. Ever since the Cold War the U.S and Russia have been hostile, like two

children at the park fighting for the top of playground. Then when one kid tries to grow

up, the immature kid pokes and pokes until their back at square one being immature kids.
 We as two different kind of country and people need to fix these hostile feelings or

history and and will repeat itself.

Relate your Event to a Historical Event (compare and contrast with current event).

_________A historical event that relates with the current event is the Cold War and the

events in the Cold War. The Cold War lasted from 1947-1991 and several events that

occurred in the Cold War relate to my three main points in the current event. Which are

Russian and US forces fighting for world control, US and Russian military having close

calls with each other and Russia spreading Communism with force. Just these events and

many other events that happen compare with my current event. Some differences are the

US and Russia are not as tense as they were doing the Cold War an example of how tense

it was during the Cold War was each side having their finger on that red button. We are

not at DEFCON 2 we got to this lowest DEFCON during the Cuban Missile Crisis. _You

can just imagine the fear between both sides.

My event relates with State-building, expansion, and conflict. The reason my current

event relates with this is because Russia and the US want to expand their military all

around the world and by doing this it is creating conflict as well as other event that have

and will create conflict. Both countries are also state-building trying to make their

countries stronger and more resilient. Each country want to be better than the rest of

world, and they will keep expanding and creating conflict if we do not settle our

differences.
