History of volleyball

Have you ever wondered how sports were invented? Since the origin of the man,
people has tried to invent diverse ways to have fun and to do physic activities, and
in all the games invented theres is a ball involved. There are historians who talk
about the evidence of a similar game of volleyball in Rome of 200 b.C.

William Morgan, a professor of Physical Education who with his leadership

managed to implement various physical activities for his students, was based on
how to play tennis, but eliminating rackets and small balls, only keeping the net to
a greater height and with a ball of basketball invented the game called Mintonette.
We only need a lighter ball to create the most fun game ever he used to say. The
name of Volleyball born when he saw that the ball went from one side to another,
like flying the ball.

Some differences between the first games of volleyball are among the most
important: the number of players on the count, the height of the net and the
number of strokes allowed before the ball passes. Other rules were added to the
regulation over time as the points with which it was considered a game won, the
prevent touching the ball with the feet and that the ball touched the net.

Over time, volleyball went from being a school game to a competition in the
Olympic Games, where not only men were allowed to play, also women. And not
only room volleyball, also the beach volleyball which also has its own rules.

Can you imagine the invention of a new sport in the future?
