SUBJECT : FULL ALERT STATUS for TY NINA

DATE : 24 December 2016

1. At 7:00 PM today, the eye of Typhoon "NINA" was located based on all available data
including Guiuan doppler radar at 355 km East of Virac, Catanduanes (13.4 N, 127.5 E). It
has maximum sustained winds of 175kph near the center and gustiness of up to 215kph. It is
forecast to move West Northwest at 15kph. It is expected to make landfall over Catanduanes
by Sunday (Dec. 25) afternoon or evening.

2. The RDRRMC 4A Operations Center raised its alert level to BLUE Alert status since 22
December 2016, 12PM and upgraded it to RED ALERT STATUS on 24 December 2016,
12PM. The Regional Response Cluster is now activated thru DSWD 4A to ensure close
coordination and preparations is undertaken.

3. As of 24 December 2016, the entire region is under ALERT LEVEL CHARLIE of the
Operations LISTO. In this regard, the LDRRMCs through their LDRRMOs are advised to put
their respective Emergency Operations Center to FULL (RED) Alert Status and ensure that
appropriate preparedness for response measures is undertaken.

4. Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Councils are reminded to continuously disseminate
NDRRMC/RDRRMC advisories through local/community leaders and/or local media to
inform/warn communities, particularly residents in low-lying areas, near mountain slopes and
coastal areas of possible flooding/flashfloods, landslides, storm surges and big waves.

5. For coherence of actions, please render reports (preparedness activities, situational reports and
regular updates) to the Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council IV-A through
