scheduleVIoftheCompaniesAct,1956.TherevisedscheduleVI,whichisinaccordancewiththeIFRS
requirements,mandatesthedisclosureofassetsandliabilitiesintocurrentandnoncurrentportions.It
thereforerequirestheseparatedisclosureoflongtermandshorttermborrowings.

ThisfieldhasbeenintroducedtocapturetheadditionaldisclosuresmadebycompaniesinaccordancewiththerevisedScheduleVIformat.Suchdatais
usuallyavailablefromthefinancialyear201112onwards.

Currentportionreferstothatportionofaconventionallongtermitemthatisexpectedtobepaidoffwithinaperiodof12monthsfromthebalancesheet
date.InthelightofthenewguidelinesoftherevisedscheduleVI,companiesareexpectedtosegregatethecurrentportionfromconventionallongtermitems.
