Use a standard report structure, Word-process the report and use Normal script of a proper font size 12.
Produce an academic report, detailing the above issues with an approx. word limit of 4000 to 4500 words.

The Assignment sheet should be attached in the front. Assignments without the declaration form will not be accepted.

Purpose of this assignment

This unit assignment will enable the learners to appreciate the differences between
personnel and human resource functions. It will also provide a deeper understanding of
hiring procedures for workforce and also deal with cessation of employment. This
assignment will also help learners understand the complexities of motivational tools
and theories, as well as the application of systems to evaluate performance and their
impact.

Scenario
You are an HR professional and, until recently, worked as a consultant in a small HR
consultancy firm offering advice on HR issues to small and medium sized enterprises
(SMEs). Posh Nosh Limited is one of the organisations you have worked with in the
past and you were flattered when Carmela Williams, the founder and Chief Executive
Officer (CEO), suggested that you join the company on a full-time basis. They already
own a chain of ten outlets in the London area, providing an up-market fast food
business, offering eat-in, takeaway and catering services.

This organisation has never had a formal Human Resources function. Being an SME, it
has a flat structure and the CEO has handled all HR issues herself. In the wake of the
companys expansion plans, the increased workload this has placed on the CEO and in
recognition of the need to consolidate HR activities, the CEO has employed you as the
companys first dedicated HR Manager.

Your first task is to write a report for the CEO which outlines the role of the newly
formed HR department and identifies the key issues involved in Posh Noshs
ambitious growth plans.
