As an independent third party testing and certification body in compliance with
ISO/IEC, KERI has provided its customers worldwide with the testing, certification
and inspection services for electrical apparatus ranging from low voltage to extra
high voltage. In addition to the world-class high voltage and high power testing
facilities that can carry out various electrical tests up to 1100kV 110kA, KERI is
also an internationally certified testing and certification body with well recognized
technical capabilities, strict testing and certification procedures and fully
experienced experts.

KERI has been established in 1976 as a non-profit independent
research and testing institute. And KERI s Testing and
Certification Services has begun its role as an independent
third-party testing organization in 1982 with the construction of
a 4800MVA short-circuit generator, synthetic testing facilities
and extra-high voltage testing facilities in Changwon. Since
then, KERI has continuously been growing through the
additional installation of the facilities including a three-phase
synthetic testing facility in 1992 and a 600MVA short-circuit
generator in 2000. Furthermore, KERI has recently completed
the large expansion project of upgrading the testing facilities
and capabilities to the 1100kV, 110kA. As a result of those
efforts, KERI has now secured the world-class testing and

measuring facilities. These facilities can cover 550kV 63kA full
pole short-circuit making and breaking test, 4200kV impulse
voltage test, 1100kV power-frequency AC withstand test, surge
arrester test, MV class power cable test, artificial pollution test,
EMC test and so on.
Also since becoming an accredited testing laboratory by
KOLAS in 1994 for global recognition of certificates and test
reports, KERI is now recognized as the new global leader in
the field of testing and certification being internationally
accepted as a product certification body by ACCREDIA in Italy
in 2003, a IECEE CB testing laboratory in 2004, a product
certification body by KAS in 2005, a IECEE CB national
certification body in 2008, and a STL Member in 2011.

Certificates and Test Reports

KERI issues the certificates and test reports for the low and high
voltage electrical products that meet the requirements of a recognized
standard. KERI s test reports and certificates are accepted worldwide
based on the globally recognized testing technologies and reliability
through the continuous activities in the international organizations
including IEC, CIGRE and STL(Short-circuit Testing Liaison), the global
forum for international collaboration among testing organizations.

technical requirements from our customers in the world, KERI has been continuously expanding its
infrastructure through the enhancement project of its testing facility on a regular and occasional basis. Those

The world-class modern high voltage and high capacity testing facilities allow us to carry out various electric

tests up to 1100kV 110kA. Moreover KERI has recently succeeded in commercializing the short-circuit making

and breaking test on 800kV 50kA full pole circuit-breaker for the first time in the world. And this remarkable

achievement gave KERI a significant opportunity to be recognized as a global testing laboratory by manufacturers,

electric utilities and other testing laboratories.
