INTRODUCTION
Have you ever wonder why bother learning chemistry? Well, almost every product that we used in
our daily life were started from lab experiment such as soap, shampoo, lotion drug, plastic, paper, paint,
vitamin, etc. Chemistry demonstrates a basic knowledge of how these consumable products were made.
In this report, you will know the structure of the organic compound called Nalorphine and the structure of
it.
3

OBJECTIVE
The purpose of this project is to inform a readers to be able to identify the functional group called Nalorphine
in our daily life.
4

NALORPHINE FUNCTIONAL GROUP

Consisting of
- Alcohol: HO
- Amine: O
- Ether: N
5

PURPOSE OF THE COMPOUND

It is used for treatment with people who overdose with narcotic drugs[1][2]. It can help by
reverberate sing respiratory depression which can also be combine with either morphine or meperidine to
reduce rate of depression during parturition[4]. It can help reduce or annihilate neuroleptic activities of
narcotic substance such as morphine, codeine, hydromorphone, etc[5][6]. However, it does not work with
non narcotic substance or barbiturates[6].
