OBJECTIVE
The objective of doing this project is to illustrates the concept of circular

motion and electricity, which is used as the main concept in this project and it

can be apply in daily life.

Background
We decided to create an electric ferris wheel. The physics concept that we

will use in our project is circular motion. The ferris wheel will be made from

popsicle stick and will be able to move by using the motor.

MATERIALS
- Popsicle Sticks
-Cardboard
-Latex Glue
-Motor
-Circular Saw
-Ruler
-Empty Pen Lead
-Scissor
ACTUAL PROJECT
DISCUSSION OF DESIGN
The design was based on the actual ferris wheel.
We make the weight and the measurement of the ferris wheel balance to
make it be able to hold the body of the ferris wheel and move.
We use the red-wine colour to decorate the ferris wheel and use white
colour to paint the basket.
The hole need to be measure in the size that the motor can be able to fit in it.
Discussion of Physics Concept
In our project, the ferris wheel is moving in a circular motion at a constant
speed, the net force that acting on the ferris wheel come from the motor.

The ferris wheel is accelerating as it is rotating in a circle. The speed that the
ferris wheel undergoes is the rotational speed. It is involves the number of
rotations per unit of time. All part of the ferris wheel share the same rate of
rotation.
DATA AND ANALYSIS 0.6 = 0.128m/s

Acceleration Velocity Radius

0.1282= 0.164m/s
0.164 m/s2 0.128 m/s 0.10 meter 0.10

The ferris wheel move in the circular motion at a constant speed . It

has the velocity 0.128 m/s, and has the acceleration of 0.164m/s2and we
conclude that if we increase the radius of the ferris wheel to be longer, the
acceleration of the ferris wheel will be smaller and slower.
CONCLUSION
The ferris wheel moves in the circular path and have a constant speed. We find
out that the acceleration of the ferris wheel is not directly proportional to the radius.
By creating this project, It also helps us to use critical thinking and creative thinking
to create the works, fix the errors and find the best way to achieve the goal.
RECOMMENDATION
We can avoid the error in this project by

Cut the popsicle accurately to prevent the error of the size of the ferris
wheel.

Choose the motor that has enough power to make the ferris wheel move.

Make every basket equal to each other, so the overall look of the ferris
wheel is beautiful.

Make the stick that we use to hold the basket equal to each other, to
prevent the ferris wheel from unable to rotate.
