Commissioning Procedure:

Initially, batching pig shall be pushed by water and entire section of pipeline From
Mangalore cavern to LFP shall be filled with water. Batching pig shall be launched
with crude from LFP. And operate the booster pump on Crude to propel the pig.
The step wise procedure is as follows:
Ensure that launcher is depressurized, by reading on pressure gauge.

The valves in process area at LFP MOV- 1101 and MOV 1102 with 2
equalizer line should be closed.

Keep open the MOV -1103 and MOV 1104.

At IVS MOV -1201, MOV-1202, MOV1203, MOV-1024 shall be open and

MOV 1205, MOV 1206 MOV 1209 with 2 equalizer line shall be closed.

At Mangalore cavern MOV 2401, MOV 2402, UV 2401 and MOV 2404 shall
be open and MOV-2403, MOV 2405 with 2 equalizer line shall be closed.

Now open the door of scrapper launcher/ receiver and insert the pig and close
the door,

Launch the pig through water and fill the water in entire length of pipeline
section from Mangalore to LFP.
After receive the pig in scrapper launcher/ receiver at LFP, and then close
the MOV 1103.
Stop the water filling from Mangalore cavern.
Depressurize and drain scrapper launcher/ receiver.
Open the door and remove the pig.
Insert another pig in the scrapper launcher.
Push the pig to the other end of the scrapper and close the launcher door.
Open the 099 MOV 35 (Existing MRPL Line MOV/ tap-off valve) and receive
the crude through line no. 48-P- 003-1101-B9A-IS,
Open the MOV- 1102 and receive the crude in scrapper launcher through
kicker line (16-P-003-1102-B9A-IS) and launch the pig.
Keep watch on pig indicator.
Once pig passes through indicator, open the MOV- 1101, closed the MOV- 1103
and MOV 1102 with 2 equalizer line.
Depressurize and drain scrapper launcher.
Line up Crude as mentioned below.
 Ensure launcher barrel is fully depressurized by reading on pressure gauge
Open.
Start the booster pumps and keeps it continues filling crude in to the pipe line
through MOV-1101.
During crude in, all 48 MOVs at IVS shall be in open condition except MOV
1205, MOV 1206 MOV 1209 with 2 equalizer line shall be closed. (42 line)
Parallel drain the water from Mangalore cavern or fill the same in cavern through
metering skid.
When pig shall be receive in scrapper receiver at Mangalore cavern close the
MOV 2404 and open the MOV-2403.
Receivers the crude in metering skid send the same in cavern.
Depressurize and drain scrapper launcher.
Ensure launcher barrel is fully depressurized by reading on pressure gauge
Open.
Open the door of receiver and remove the pig from receiver and close the
door again.
