Letter of Recommendation for Sahil Gupta

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN

I am pleased to provide this letter of recommendation on behalf of Sahil Gupta

who has been a student of Information Technology at the Maharaja Surajmal
Institute of Technology, since 2008. He is expected to graduate in 2012 with an
excellent aggregate. As Head of Department, Information Technology, I have had
the opportunity to teach and interact with Sahil on a regular basis and have found
him to be an exceptionally committed and focused student. He has the academic
foundation, intellectual capacity, technical skills and creativity to undertake
graduate study and it gives me great pleasure to endorse his application for
admission.

During the course on Operating Systems which Sahil attended under my guidance,
I was very impressed with his presentation on Memory Segmentation. He
demonstrated a methodical approach, good logical reasoning and analytical skills
and his technical explanations were clear and lucid; indicating an excellent grasp
of the subject matter. I also taught him the course on Digital Communication and
his involvement in the coding of large programs indicated a strong background in
C++ and demonstrated that he could implement complex digital communications
problems easily.

Sahil has an excellent aptitude for programming and software engineering and a
talent for research. We have very few students in our college who are able
produce research work of substantial worth and Sahil has clearly shown he stands
out in this regard. He has already presented an extraordinary research paper
entitled Analysing Expert System Mechanism in the field of Artificial
Intelligence. This was published in The 2011 International Conference on Artificial
Intelligence (ICAI 2011) which was one of the 22 joint conferences organized by
the 2011 World Congress of Computer Science, Computer Engineering and
Applied Computing (World Comp 2011) in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. The paper
provided an analysis of Expert System mechanism in the domains of financial
analysis of banking firms and Air traffic control. Sahil has informed me that he
intends to publish another research paper on the project Content Based Image
Retrieval and Information Processing from Images.

Sahil has shown good teamwork and leadership skills within the classroom, in the
research laboratory and in extracurricular involvement. He has been a mentor for
junior students and has taken part in several social service campaigns both within
and outside our campus. His interests in gaming, technical quizzing and coding
demonstrate that he is a talented and multidimensional individual.

I am confident that Sahil has the interest, ability and talent to excel in graduate
school. He will be an asset to any institution he decides to join and add value to
the classroom, program and campus environment. I wish him all the very best in
all his future endeavors.
