1) The main point identified the artist of the political cartoon is that president Calvin

Coolidge provided big business. The cartoon depicts Coolidge playing music of praise to

make big business happy. Coolidge believed that appearing big business would help

stabilize the economy.


2) One policy example from the 1920s that supports that point of view is the tax reduction

from 1921 to 1926. Andrew Mellon pushed for this tax reduction to make big business

and upper class pay less taxes. This made middle and lower class pay more
3) One impact of the tax reduction was the Great Depression. Lower and middle class

people were paying more for taxes causing them to have less saved money. The stock

market then crashed causing banks to close making the money saved with the banks

unaccusable.
