Lesson Plan for Video Project

Before the day-

Make sure to sign up for the IXL trial period and enter the student's names. Be
sure to make easy passwords so that it will be easy to explain to ALL students.
Plan Practice Round 5th hour at the beginning. Call IT department to make sure
it can be videoed.

On the day-
Explain why we are trying IXL - practicing the use of Logarithms
Explain how to work the IXL program-
a) username and password
b) also how to use the tabs on the side or the main page to get
where they need to be
c) let them explore the Logarithm practice problems (F1-F16)
Make sure there is enough time to log off the computers at the end of class
Keep an eye on the students that they are working on the topic at hand
Before the close of the hour let them explore more areas/problems

**- While the students are working, listen to the comments-both good and bad-to understand if
this is an acceptable form of technology that they would continue to use

Mention to the students that this program can also be accessed at home if they would like.

**Backup plan if things go awry-
