Create, Change & Display of Functional Location IL01,IL02,IL03
Purpose
A functional location is an organizational unit to structure the maintenance objects of a company
according to functional, process-related or spatial criteria.
A functional location represents the place at which equipment(s) can be installed and a
maintenance task is to be performed.
Trigger
Functional locations need to be structured according to functional, process-related or spatial
criteria.
Prerequisites
Functional location name - Enter name of Functional location according to the edit
mask
Structure indicator- Enter name of structure indicator that refers to the appropriate
functional location
Functional location type- Verify functional location type
Menu Path
Use the following menu path(s) to begin this transaction:
Select Logistics Plant Maintenance Technical Objects Functional
Location to go to Create, Change and Display screen.

Functional locations may be copied from existing functional locations or reference

functional locations. Determine all areas of the company campus to be represented by functional
locations prior to creating new functional locations. This is necessary to determine if the delivered
edit masks are suitable or if new ones need to be added in configuration.
When creating a functional location for the first time (each login), enter the structure indicator
FIRST and hit enter. This will display the numbering/naming convention that must be used

Procedure
1. Start the transaction using the menu path or transaction code.

information for functional location. This functionality is optional.
If more communication channels need to be maintained hit button OTHER

COMMUNICATION within the address maintenance sub screen. A new sub screen shows up
where more communication channels can be maintained. Select appropriate communication
method, hit green CHECK buttons and maintains required information.
