Short rows are used in many knitting
Japanese
projects. The use most familiar to knitters
is turning the heel of a sock. Dipped hems,
bust darts, and ruffles can all be made with
short rows. Designers are constantly coming

This camp is all about the way that we
camouflage the turning point so that we do
not leave a hole in our knitted fabric.
The class project will be a ruffled scarf that

short rows you will learn throughout the day

Frost Flowers Lace Scarf

This lace pattern appears in

Barbara Walikers first Treasury
of Knitting Patterns. Her research
found that this pattern dates to the early
19th century and possibly even earlier.
Most lace patterns involve action on only one side
of the fabric. Frost Flowers has action on both sides
of the fabric, which will be an enjoyable challenge
for advanced lace knitters. Your scarf will worked in
two pieces and invisibly joined with kitchener stitch.

Cocoknits
Julie Weisenberger of Cocoknits has created a top down,
seamless sweater making system that imitates the look of a set in
sleeve. It is a perfect technique for enjoying a fiber while making
a quick, simple, classic sweater.
Sometimes seamless sweaters suffer from lack of structure that
causes them to lose shape. Julie Weisenberger has conquered
this problem by adapting the English Tailored Shoulder to hand
knitting. Her technique give your sweater good bones, providing
structure and support in the critical shoulder area.
It is the goal of this class is to get you comfortable with the
Cocoknits basic sweater system and help you see the how you
can easily make small modifications to get the sweater you want.
Julies methods will help you think about gauge in a new way,
knitting yarns at looser gauges than the ball band suggests to
make warm weather friendly knits.

Pilsner Pleats
Horsehoe Lace

Pilsner Pleats or Horseshoe Lace Top

Pilsner Pleats and Horsehoe Lace are two easy to learn lace patterns
that make for great summer knitting. Get to know your chosen stitch
pattern while making rectangular front and back panels for your top.
Then create the A-line side panels by adding extra stitches between
the columns of lace and gradually decreasing those extra stitches.
Join the four panels with perfect mattress stitch seams. Finish by
knitting up of stitches for the neckline and armhole edges. Choose
a wooly wintery yarn or an all season plant fiber. Extend the wearing
time of your piece by wearing it as a vest over a liner top with sleeves.

Irish Aran
Cabled Scarf
This class is step one to achieving your goal of mas-
tering cable knitting. We'll begin the scarf by fol-
lowing row by row directions. Then, when you are
comfortable with the basic pattern, Debbie will give
you the opportunity to knit the Irish way. Debbie has
studied extensively with Rosaleen Hegarty, who man-
ages a group of production knitters in Ireland. This
method teaches you to see the flow of your stitches
freeing you from row by row directions. Once you
learn this method, youll be ready to tackle full
sweater projects. Youll also find yourself applying
the lessons learned to all your knitting projects.
