To whom this may concern:

My name is Alexis Chavoya, student of the Engineering in Health Academy (EHA) at Francisco Bravo Medical
Magnet High School, a Blue Ribbon, Gold Ribbon, and California Distinguished School. My goal is to become an
electrical/computer engineer in the near future, and my commitment to my education and academic experience is
something that certainly reflects that.

When it comes to computer science and computer programing I am a fast learner. Throughout my Computer Science
class, I learned to write programs in multiple languages such as HTML, Python, and even some Java Script. I was
able to learn these programs easily while at the same time meeting assignment deadlines, which something that
many students struggled with. Some other Computer Software that I became very familiar with was Microsoft
Office, as well as Solidworks and Adobe Premiere.

In my Junior year of high school I also wrote my first book. This book was was mechanics themed and about
grammar. This book was the result of endless hours of work and research that was a grand total of over 76 pages
long. This book included everywhere from lessons, to quizzes and entire essay examples. My book also included a
glossary was was officially published online for the world to view. I also presented my work in front of plethora of
students at my high schools annual book fair.

Apart from coding and writing books, I have also built a guitar as a project for my AP Calculus AB class. The
purpose of the project was to find the area of an object theoretically using single variable integral calculus, and
finding the estimated value using cross sections. This guitar was produced using over 500 cardboard cutouts that
were glued together in order to give the shape of a guitar. This guitar was also produced on a graphing calculator,
consisting of over 23 equations to complete the two dimensional shape. The estimated value was found using
Microsoft Excel, receiving only a 1.47% error on our calculations.

Another one of my major interests is science. I always tend to question everything and wonder why things are the
way they are and not a different way. I am always hungry for more knowledge which is why I conducted a research
study of my own regarding Nuclear Energy. In my research, I watched documentaries, listened to podcasts, read
multiple news articles, read multiple books, researched multiple scholarly journals, interviewed an expert in the field
of nuclear engineering, as well as surveying over 150 students at my school about their views on nuclear energy. My
research report was a total of 23 pages long with an additional 9 pages of statistics and demographics. The reason i
focused on nuclear energy was because of my interest in the environment which is growing more and more polluted
every day.

My concern for the environment led me to join the O-Life Garden Club at my school and becoming part of the
cabinet at the club. My high school does not have a garden, which is why the garden club started. In my time at the
club we have been diligent and efficient in achieving our goals. I entered in a district wide competition, LAUSDs
Save the Drop Competition, where the Club was granted a total of ten thousand dollars for winning first place. This
money as well as other grants my club and I entered in ultimately led to us acquiring the funds to produce the first
garden in our academic environment. Construction of this garden began Spring 2017 and will not be fully
completed until late 2018 once the O-Life Garden team has graduated. The saying legacy is planting seeds in a
garden you never get to see has become literal to our situation.

If you have any questions regarding my work feel free to contact me. You will find this information in the Contact
Me tap of this site.. I look forward to hearing from you!

Sincerely,

Alexis Chavoya
EHA Student
