Summer Has Come to the River Region
All of us are getting ready for summer. Some parts of
the season will be busy. Vacation Bible School is
typically in the front of the summer calendar. Note
that with one week of intentional discipleship
development, you will probably spiritually impact a
child in more ways than you have the entire year.
What an opportunity! To add to our spring VBS clinic
trainings, Heritage Baptist Church has graciously
offered for you and your team to attend what we call
VBS 2017 Lab. The lab will enable you on Tuesday,
June 13, to begin at their Vacation Bible School (7:45
am) and have an experiential day of seeing, hearing
Neal Hughes and experiencing first-hand a stellar VBS in action.
Director of Missions Feel free to bring your team to learn. Even if you have
already planned your VBS for 2017, grow your vision
by seeing how others conduct their school. Be sure to register (see
advertisement in MBA Baptist) by emailing rcrowe@mgmbaptists.org / or

Other parts of the summer will be relaxing. Most of us will take a vacation
during these hot, lazy days. While youre at the beach or mountains, let me
encourage you to order the following book ahead of time and enjoy the spiritual
nourishment it offers. Richard Blackabys, Living Out of the Overflow:
Serving Out of Your Intimacy with God (Jonesboro, Georgia: Blackaby
Ministries International, 2017, www.blackaby.org, ISBN 978-0-692-84237-9)
is a must read. Richard brings both his experience as a pastor and educator as
well as his gift as an expositor to teach us the rich truths from scripture. The
book encompasses two of our heroes in the faith: Elijah and Moses. Whether
you are on the mountain top of your life journey, or in the cave of despair
attempting to resign from Gods assignment, you will discover revival in
your heart from Living Out of the Overflow.
This week has been our Associational Missions Emphasis Week (May 21-28).
Thank you for praying and supporting the work of the MBA. Let me
encourage you to pray as God works through our 62 churches (and each of
you) this summer season. Let us pray for a great transformation in
Montgomery, as many will host revivals in June and July. Let us pray, as
several will be away on mission trips and other mission opportunities. Let us
pray for each other, that God will keep us all close and clean as we carry out
His perfect will. Keep us posted on what our Lord is doing through your life
and congregation so we can celebrate with you.
It is an honor to be your director of missions. Mary and I are blessed to be
living our lives on mission with each of you.

River Region Vision Tour - Lunch will be at
Dreamland Barbeque. After lunch, we will prayer
walk to the Chamber of Commerce (COC) building
at 41 Commerce Street for a 1:30 pm gathering
with Montgomery COCs executive director,
Randy George. He will unpack all that is going on
in our city and the area, and tell you what is
coming to the River Region. Come learn how
better to pray for the prosperity of the city

Dreamland BBQ - 12 West Jefferson Street (new location)
Run, Hide, Fight: A Seminar on Security in the
Church - The MBAs Great Commission Institute
will offer a choice from one of two times for you to
join us. We will be blessed to have Baptist Healths
head of security, Suzie McMahan, lead this
interesting and most needed conference for both
pastors and laity. A meal will be available at both
sessions.

New to VBS? Join us at Heritage Baptist Church on June 13 to
observe registration, Worship Rally, rotations and a whole lot
more. For the safety of our children, this is a reservation only
event. Plan to arrive at 7:45am for coffee, donuts and registration.
