0 Latar Belakang

4.1 Rimbunan Sawit Bhd

Rimbunan Sawit Berhad(RSB) is one of the pioneers of the oil palm plantation
industry in Sarawak and it is one of Sarawak's leading palm oil producers and processor of
crude palm oils and high quality oil palm seeds. Modern agricultural practices and a
dedication to technological innovation have long been mainstays of their business operations.
In additional, Rimbunan Sawit Berhad also follow environmentally sound practices to ensure
that there are no adverse environmental impact on the surrounding environment.

Rimbunan Sawit Berhad was incorporated in Malaysia under the Act on 12 May 2005
as a private limited company. On 9 June 2005, it was converted to a public limited
company. RSB is principally an investment holding company whilst its subsidiaries are
mainly involved in the cultivation of oil palm and processing of palm oil. The Group owns
approximately 14,000 Hectares (Ha) of plantation land together with a palm oil mill in Miri,
Sarawak. Its annual proforma Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFB) productions for the financial year
ended 31 August 2006 was approximately 140,000 metric tones (mt). The total annual
productions of Crude Palm Oil (CPO) and Palm Kernel (PK) for the financial year ended 31
August 2006 were approximately 70,000 mt and 15,000 mt respectively. The end products of
RSBs oil milling operations, for example, CPO and PK are solely sold to Bintulu Edible
Oils Sdn Bhd (BEO), which operates one of the major palm oil refineries in Sarawak
presently.
