Shopping a dream come true or a terrible nightmare? Some shopping is necessary. It can also
be fun. For many people it is a hobby, often a very enjoyable one. We have even invented a new
phrase, retail terapy, to describe the good feeling we can get from buying things. Shopping
makes many of us feel better. However, it can go badly wrong too, when for some people, their
spending gets out of control. Without a doubt, we live in a very spend-happy society. Generally,
we are spending more that we earn and many people are finding themselves in debt. For some
people, shoping can become a real addiction. It can be a serious condition in which people dont
feel happy unless they are buying something.

When the police arrive, they quickly judge how serious the crime is. If the evidence shows that
it might be murder, they close the area so that no evidence is destroyed or disturbed. Then other
experts are called: the pathologist records details about the body, including its position and any
wounds. The photographer takes pictures of the crime scene ant the evidence. The police
investigators check for fingerprints and collect samples of hair, blood and fibres. What do the
forensic scientists do? Most importantly, they test samples of body fluids, fibres, clothes and
other items.
