Dear _____________________;

Greetings of Fides et Spes (Faith and Hope) in the Risen Lord!

I would like to convey one event that befell our Local Church in Ozamis.

On the early dawn (at about 1:00 AM) of Easter Sunday (April 16, 2017), fire caught the third
floor of the building where the local Catholic Radio Station DXDD (AM, FM and Local Cable
TV Channel) owned and managed by the Archdiocese of Ozamis is situated, thereby bringing
about irreparable damage to its office, studio and technical broadcasting facilities.

The whole of FM studio booth was reduced into ashes and if not with the timely response by the
Ozamiz City Bureau of Fire Protection fire-fighters as well as the priests and parishioners of the
nearby Cathedral parish, fire would have swallowed everything including other business
establishments located in the same building. However, heat generated from the fire as well as the
volume of water collaterally brought damage to all our office and studio facilities.

Initial investigation by the bureau revealed that faulty electrical connections in the ceiling of the
FM studio ignited the fire. Immediately after the incident, the management and employees of the
station secured some few salvageable items and assessed the degree of damage caused, which
amounted to 3.5 Million.

DXDD, envisioned as a communication and media apostolate arm by the Archdiocese of

Ozamis, was established by the Columban Missionaries in 1970. It has reached 47 years of
service to the populace of Central Visayas and Northern Mindanao. Being a station faithful to
Catholic teachings and morals, it only broadcasts religious programs, news, public affairs and
current events, and is known for its charitable Operation Tabang/Tulong activities bringing
immediate basic services and medical assistance to destitute victims of calamities and diseases in
our locality. It is a proud member of the Catholic Media Network (CMN) in the Philippines.

DXDD promotes the Culture of Life thus it refuses to accept paid advertisements and promote
thereof any products, activities and monetary opportunities inimical to the faith and morals of the
Church. Therefore, DXDD is bereft of any profitable status and financial abundance compared to
other media outlets.

It is in this cognizance that the undersigned Archbishop of Ozamis and Chairman of the Board of
DXDD, humbly appeal to your kind-hearted office for financial help you could extend in order
for us to rise again and continue bringing the Good News to the poor through media
communications platform.

I remain

Sincerely in Christ,

MOST. REV. MARTIN S. JUMOAD, DD

Archbishop of Ozamis
Chairman, Dan-ag sa Dakbayan Broadcasting Corp.
