Article Title: Sexism-Sociology

Quotes: 1). The study of sexism has suggested that the solution to
**(3-5 Depending on

2). Although women are seen as naturally fit for domestic work
and are superb at being caretakers, their roles are devalued or not
valued at all when compared with mens work.

3). The extreme form of sexist ideology is misogyny, the hatred of

women.

Summary: Sexism is defined as a prejudice against another sex,

**(1-2 paragraphs typically against girls or women. Sexism was
depending on article
length)** originally formed to raise consciousness for the
oppression of women. Many see women as the perfect
fit for domestic jobs and caretaking. Although their
roles are not valued when being compared to a mans
line of work. Sexism is almost seen as the diluted
version of misogyny. Misogyny is the hatred or
dislike for women. The difference between sexism and
misogyny is when a person thinks less of women versus
when a person hates women.
Feminism was created to fight the social prejudice
against women to make all genders equal. The feminist
movement fought to find the solution to unequal
rights for women in institutions and cultures. For
equality in politics, education, and reproductive
rights. As feminism gained popularity it began to
give the image of discrimination against men. The
term reverse sexism began and tried to refocus back
onto men. The inaccurate definitions of feminism
frustrated women and now they have to work hard to
inform people about what feminism really means which
is to bring equality to both genders.

Wondering: Why wouldnt misogyny and Sexism be considered

the same thing?

Quotes: 1). Womens sexual and reproductive health is

**(3-5 Depending on
article length)** related to multiple human rights, including the right
to life.

2). Despite these obligations, violations of womens

sexual and reproductive health rights are frequent.

3). Patriarchal concepts of womens roles within

the family mean that women are often valued based on
their ability to reproduce.

Summary: Womens sexual and reproductive rights have been

**(1-2 paragraphs violated countless times for as long as anyone can
depending on article
length)** remember. Women go through things such as forced
virginity examinations, forced sterilization, and
forced abortions. Many reasons why women's sexual and
reproductive rights are often violated is based off
of societal values. Women are often valued for their
ability to reproduce and many people become
threatened when the topic of abortion or
sterilization comes into the conversation. Women are
often blamed for in infertility in our society and it
causes many women to feel ashamed or depressed.
Womens sexual and reproductive rights are largely
connected to the right to life and by refusing to
provide service to women it violates the 14th
amendment. The CEDAW has stated that preventing
health services to any women cannot be prohibited and
it is a core obligation to give fulfill the sexual
and reproductive health rights of any women.

Wondering: Why are we letting men decide the rights of women?

Many religions do not believe in abortion, why are we
letting religion mix with government when deciding if
abortion should legalized?
Article Title: Understanding Anti Feminism

Link: https://mnwomenscenter.wordpress.com/2015/04/06/under
standing-antifeminism/

Quotes: 1). There are, without a doubt, people who identify as feminists
**(3-5 Depending on
article length)** that say and do things in the name of feminism that hurt the
cause. Those who do so are not acting in the true name of
feminism.
2). Sexism affects both men and women, misandry is not the
main concern of the feminist movement.

3). Therefore, something as simple as demanding the vote

became an issue of dismantling the order because, by
demanding their rights, these women challenged their
predetermined roles of solely wife and mother without public
opinion or voice.

Summary: Today feminism has received a bad reputation. Many

**(1-2 paragraphs associate feminism as a hatred of men, or women
depending on article
length)** dominating over men. When in reality feminism is the
advocacy of women's rights on the grounds of the
equality of sexes. or the belief in the social
economic and political equality of both sexes.
Feminism gained this reputation from back when women
were trying to have the right to vote. Many women
would create campaigns promoting women's right to
vote. The media began to portray these women as
hating men. This made people take them less serious,
causing women to be even more suppressed.
As time went on women began to form anti feminist
groups. The reasoning for forming these groups was
because They didnt hate men like feminists did. A
huge reason why feminism has received this backlash
is because many feminist do things in the name of
feminism that hurt the cause. Feminist who do this
are not acting in the true name of feminism. Feminism
is about the equality between the two sexes so it is
not accurate to say the feminist are men-hating.

Wondering: Do antifeminist understand that anti feminism was

brought up by men in the media. It is ignorant for
anti feminist to say that feminist hate men because
it shows that they do not know the true meaning of
feminism.

Differences in their "brain road maps"

(scientifically known as "the connectome") can
explain why males outperform females on certain tests
of mental skills, while females have the edge in
others.

On average, male brains are about 10% larger than

female brains. "However, bigger doesn't mean
smarter," says Daniel Amen, MD, author of Unleash the
Power of the Female Brain. He's studied more than
45,000 brain scans. "And no differences have been
found in men and women's IQs, regardless of brain
size."

So even if male and female brains start out similar,

they may become different over time as boys and girls
are treated differently with different expectations.

truth to what a specific gender is best at. Women are

Women who have the power to decide when to get

pregnant also must have the power to vaccinate their
children, feed them healthy food and pay their school
fees. Each of these things is a link in a chain of
good health and prosperity.

Women do the majority of the agricultural work across

Africa and South Asia, but they don't have equal
access to information and farm supplies. As a result,
plots of land worked by women generate lower yields
than plots worked by menas much as 40% lower.

mostly in Africa and South Asia, are unable to do
their best because of not having as much access to
supplies compared to men, and lack of information.
However, almost two dozen countries have developed
plans to make sure women have access to
contraceptives. There is also an organization called
Women Deliver that helps this issue.
